Funkfarley
As a 50 year old who is going to be a Grandpa in June (!) can I just point out that although this year's line up is terrifyingly appealing to me because of the "oldies"booked, I will still be spending half my time at the Glade and Dance Village and hoping to catch a load of newer, less established acts. You're only as old as you want to be and I'm still one of the "youngest" people I know. You won't catch me sitting on a bloody chair! staggerlee
I myself am a young person and I'am loving the way the festival is shaping up.But this lineup isn't met with such enthusiasm by my friends and is a reason why most of them aren't interested in the festival. Has/will this lineup attract large number of people aged 16-24 ? (I'am not complaining)
Alcatraz
Hmmm I don't get were you are coming from really. Last year the festival was headlined by Jay Z, The Verve and KOL (who are arguably the biggest band around at the moment). Every year there are plenty of great acts popular with most young people and also a plethora of young, often generic Indie bands. Not to mention plenty of dance music, which goes on till 6am. Really, apart from going more commerical I don't see what else ME can do to attract more youngsters. I am 21 by the way.

Bradders
Start riots? I swear I hear people who wont go to Glastonbury because there isn't some kind of wave of destruction at the end of it.
Alcatraz
Starting a sentence with both "I swear" and "I hear" gives the rest of it very little credibility. Edited March 3, 2009 by Alcatraz
gemstarrr
i'm 17 and this year will be my 3rd time at glasto and to be honest the lineup so far doesn't appeal to me. i won't let that put me off, i mean obviously i bought i ticket before i knew any bands who were going to be playing, but it is a little dissapointing so far... i'm just holding out hoping that the third headliner isn't neil young! but even if it is, i'm sure there'll be other bands i like on other stages. i'm just worried about my friend who hasn't been before now, i really wanted them to enjoy a good headline slot on the pyramid! benisright
Seriously....at what point did young people stop liking Blur?!
Sam.
I'm 20, nearly 21, Blur were big when I was around Year 6 at school. Too early for me, perhaps not others though. My first influences were when I was about 14, Aerosmith and Fatboy Slim were my first records.

somecoolusername
I'm 16, Glasto had better want me. For the record, I LOVE Blur, definitely my favourite band of all time, it's a little effort to get into bands that aren't shoved down your throat every couple of seconds, but totally worth it, the first time I heard them properly (ie listened to an album) I was hooked, and surprised at how many of the songs I knew...... There are barely ANY confirmed acts, and the line-up is already pretty exciting to me....... Don't see people's problem....
