A friend of the keyboard player in his backing band. I'm pretty sure its reliable info, I wouldn't post it otherwise. But (and I may be wrong) don't hold ouy hope for Pulp songs, I dont think he's played any live since going solo.

When I last saw him I was gutted he didn't play any Pulp tracks but he's still brilliant, and who knows, maybe the occasion might cause him to break out some oldies...

Well his new album is pretty good in general.

The first solo isn't as good but has it's moments , the 'secret' song at the end, "Running the World" is lovely.

I'm not so sure about this new album (and my copy hasn't got 'Running the World' on?), it's Albini produced, and much as I loved Big Black and enjoyed Shellac, I don't really understand the fascination that fey indie bands have for working with him. The results never seem that good, c.f The Wedding Present, The Auteurs and this one.

Luke Haines' book has a fantastic section about working with Albini, it's a briliant read.

I've only listened to this new Jarvis album a few times, but first impressions are no that good. I mean, it's better than a lot of stuff, but it's not great.
