There's been another near miss reported today , a helicopter crashed recently, another small passanger plane crashed a few weeks ago, the plane crash in the states a couple of weeks ago and then the crash landing in thHudson river a couple of months back.

Just seems to be a lot of plane related incidents all happening at once.

I think it's because the planets electromagnetic field is slowly being eaten away by minature aliens who will abduct us all and pose as our "saviours" just as we're all about to die a fiery death...

Or I could be insane - but I wouldn't bet on it...

Surely a plance crash is always going to get media coverage... it's not the kind of thing that the media ignores. Have there been any more planes in the sky over the last few months?

I saw a program about this a while ago. Once the pitot tubes stop working, the plane doesn't know how fast its going. Just about every instrument on board relies on this information to work properly. So basically, they were flying with no accurate readouts in the cockpit, making it pretty much impossible tell if they were accesnding, decending, which direction they were going etc.
