The stats say that you have roughly a 1 in 7 million chance of dying in a plane crash. You're twice as likely to be killed by lightening or a bee sting. On average, if you take one flight per day, it would take 19 thousand years to die in a plane crash. But this doesn't help the poor people on that Air France flight. so that's twice as good odds as there are in winning the lottery. People play the lottery cos they think they'll win.
