glastofun
To be fair this question is posted in the chat area (rather than the questions area) so it's not surprising the people are giving their opinions...but, the Wolverhampton option sounds much more sensible. Then you'll get the full glastonbury experience plus you'll get to see this band that you clearly love. Also, I think you may be surprised regarding their appearence at Glastonbury. Overseas bands don't come to the UK at that time of the year and have no desire to play Glastonbury. Are you going to Glastonbury alone or with friends? If the latter, you could just go on firday in the knowledge that you'll either be sharing a tent with them or you could've persuaded them to put yours up? I left Glastonbury last year first thing Sunday morning, and everything went like clockwork. I was worried that all sorts of things would go worng but nothing did. The bus from the festival to the station, 4 changes, it all went fine. Coming back though would be more difficult.
halvin
I left site to go to a wedding on Saturday last year and didn't have any practical problems. We got off site without any trouble and got back in okay. That said, I'd never do it again. I was knackered for the whole day and all I wanted to do was go to bed. I had to get up early on Saturday, which meant that I had to be reasonably sensible on Friday night, and I had a three mile walk to the car followed by a couple of hours journey (I wasn't driving so I managed to get a little kip on the journey). At the wedding, people were asking me whether I'd been smoking anything because I had bloodshot eyes, I was stumbling around and barely spoke to anyone. I hadn't been smoking anything, in fact I haven't touched the stuff in years.
Mark E. Spliff
If you're trying to get in and out of Glastonbury during the festival, a motorbike is the way to go. The motorbike compound is right by the perimeter fence, so an easy walk. And you can ride straight out onto the road without any queues. The parking is in a secure locked compound and its free.
