ionicmoose
Seeing that they've just been announced for Oxegen it puts them in the loop for other possible festival appearances. What's the chances of any of them playing? Would make my festival to have NIN headline the Other stage one night

darrenbha
They are indeed. Just hope they hurry up and announce an appearance in england. very high up my list of bands to sea, think in terms of glasto this heightens the chances of pet shop boys appearing. would love to see NIN headline other stage again but can't imagine it this year
Marathon_Man
I'm sure I read somewhere on here the other day Neil saying that the Pet Shop Boys were DEFINITELY not playing glasto this year...

ionicmoose
Neil, any clarification on NIN or Jane's Addiction? Both probably unlikely but it would be nice to hear if there is even a glimmer of hope
sifi
I thought they were both rumoured for that Knebworth thing. This is a good resource. You type in a name of a band, and it tells you where efestivals has them playing or rumoured as playing at. eFestivals
I'm sure I read somewhere on here the other day Neil saying that the Pet Shop Boys were DEFINITELY not playing glasto this year... Correct - as passed to me by someone who got it direct from their own lips.
eFestivals
Neil, any clarification on NIN or Jane's Addiction? Both probably unlikely but it would be nice to hear if there is even a glimmer of hope I very much doubt it .... in fact, I doubt they'll play T in the Park either, although it's often the case that bands that play Oxegen also play T. I'm 99.5% sure they're both playing Sonisphere, and I think they'll be a UK exclusive for that.
ionicmoose
I really don't like how Sonisphere seem to be stopping any band playing their fest from playing anywhere else I know that most festivals have exclusives, but they're taking it a bit far. Especially the fact that Bullet For My Valentine pulled their Hammerfest appearance due to 'recording commitments', and are then listed on the Sonisphere site as their only UK festival performance of the year in the same news article about all the other exclusives they're secrued. Not good. Of course that last point could just be a coincidence

But don't go blaming any festival for that fact - it's *ALWAYS* up to the band concerned if they want to accept exclusive terms or not. They're perfectly free to reject such an offer, but their greed for the wonga on offer has them yelling as loud as they can "yes".
ralph250
sonisphere has the advantage of it being pretty much a european tour aswell with the 6 or so dates, especially with the extra marketing that it'll provide.
ionicmoose
Just realised what that sounded like, I meant they're taking it a bit far by seeming to secure so many exclusives

ionicmoose
Nine Inch Nails headlined the Other Stage in 2000. I think the chances of them playing this year considering they have been relatively quiet over here in recent times is highly unlikely. emmaroid
Yeah I know they did, which is why it's possible for them to do it again. As for your second point, I started the topic after they've just been announced for Oxegen, meaning they ARE playing shows over here. Anyway, doesn't matter as it's not going to happen
ionicmoose
Hey I love NIN! My point was more that they are not a Glasto Headlining act any more. Check out how far down the bill they are on the Oxygen line up - below pet shop boys, keane and Bloc Party????

eFestivals
Can you clarify on that. A English festival exclusive or a English exclusive? This is their last tour for years so need to see but don't want to spend £150-odd if I only need to spend 25;) I have no idea for sure if it's any sort of exclusive. However, I suspect that it's going to be a UK exclusive for Sonisphere.
popcornmaster
On the sonisphere thread they seem to talk of NIN being a special guest Hasn't that sort of unannounced/special guest set been able to be used as a loopholes out of exclusives in the past? (clutching at straws i know) Since November i've been dreaming of the possibility that they could play as i'd read they'd be in England at the time, i will give sexual favours to those in high places to get them to headline the other stage

(clutching at straws i know) Since November i've been dreaming of the possibility that they could play as i'd read they'd be in England at the time, i will give sexual favours to those in high places to get them to headline the other stage seeing as it now looks pretty certain that NIN/JA are not playing T but are playing Oxegen, it looks even more like a Sonispehere exclusive. (If I'm wrong, I expect them to be announced for T today). NIN & JA were actually announced in nme last week as playing T, but they weren't included in the announcement by T on announcement day .... again, this looks very much like they've been pulled because of contractual arrangements elsewhere. thegremlin_1999
ok... REALLY clutching at straws here but... NIN playing in Germany on the saturday of glasto, but nowhere on the friday... Please please PLEASE other stage friday headliners? Please? NIN live in Perth watch the vid, see how damn special they'd be...
