Sorry to hear that, not much i can say in defence really.

Different days :) It was Morrissey headlining after Faithless (surely you remember the mass exodus away from the main stage after Faithless finished :D ).

so i bought a 3m x 3m tarp last year, this confused idiot security so they left us alone :) .

Don't worry about the queue's for beer tokens RussyCarps. I've been going for the last 5 years and the longest I have ever had to queue for tokens is 5 mins and never had to queue at the bars for very long either. There are cash bars located in the Bacardi Tent, Stongbow tent and JJB arena so you have options should you not wish to get the tokens. Also, if you want tips on smuggling booze into the arena, visit the V forums as there are some rather ingenius methods that people use...!!

i have been to v three times, i usually go as my mates do and hylands park is only about 30min drive away from me, but every time i go i feel ripped off, they just seem to piss away there whole budget on headliners then the rest of the line up is crap. I never feel i get value for money and is majorly expensive! Plus its full of people who go, cos they think 'its cool to go to festivals'

I've been to V twice in Chelmsford (only cos I couldn't get glasto tickets those years though) and, although I had a good time, it's full of morons. Girls in heels, toffs with hampers and jumpers tossed round their necks, Burberry wearing Cockneys and people who like to hang round the "Bacardi bar". There was a rather humorous Hare Krishna tent on the way in that looked utterly out of place though which made me think they were trying too hard to be a "traditional" festival.

What I don't get is the price they're charging for what is, essentially, a shite line up and only 2 days of entertainment!! I like Oasis but Keane, Razorlight, Snow Patrol and Katy bloody Perry??? My god!! Its a festival for commuters and I bloody hate it and the fact that people can afford to spend £162 (presumably there's postage on top as well yeh?) on that rubbish speaks volumes about the crowd there - bankers and rich kids!!!

I dont get it, is V classed as such a bad thing. Ive never been but have heard its a lot smaller than glasto & its all about the hard sale to line Bransons pocket. But surely its still a good fest as it sells out every year & it seems like many people return year after year.

its the queues and the clashes! and the fact it is £155 for only 2 days!

honestly you can wait an hour in a toilet queue.. and you have to queue for beer tokens then queue at the bar and these can not be used the following day. you have to pay about a tenner to get a programme or you don't know what bands are on. Last time I went I heard someone going into peoples tents to rob and just battering anyone that happened to be in their tent.. it was that bad that we packed up and slept in the car and vowed to never go back.

Never been to Chelmsford so cannot comment. BUT I go to V Stafford most years and I am niether a banker or a rich kid. I live in Newcastle and between the choice of T in the Park and V being the two nearest me I go to V. Did prefer it when the 'northen leg' of V was at Leeds mind you.

However I find ignore the people you do not like and have a laugh with your mates. There are always a fair few bands on I want to see and thats why I go. Yes Glastonbury is better but V has its place as well. Think about it if it suddenly stopped would the people you seem to dispise get tickets to Glastonbury. I did notice some girls in heels at Glastonbury last year I must say.
