When was it decided that bands playing Sonisphere can't play Reading as well? Fair enough if it has been confirmed somewhere and I haven't spotted - but it's not definite surely?

Download, Reading and V have that arrangement but Sonisphere being an international festival I wouldn't have though it mattered all that much.

Dude alot of Sonisphere bands are UK or Englsih festival exclusives for them. Imagien Placebo might be an Enlish festival exclusive once announced.

Okay, I'm not sure why though? Just because some of the bands announced thus far are exclusives for Sonisphere doesn't mean that will be the same for anyone else they announce does it? Or does it?

I really don't understand why people think Placebo are 'heavy'. Fair enough they're quite 'loud' and very guitar orientated etc but they would fit fine on any indie day as well.

Alternative Rock, not heavy.

And Sonisphere seem eager to get all their bands on exclusives, so I'd be very surprised if that didn't extent to Placebo.

I think "only" around half or two thirds of Sonisphere bands will be exclusives (that's still a lot).

Let's put it this way, if you're mulling over whether you want to see Metallica/Linkin Park/NIN/Jane's Addiction/Lamb of God/Avenged Sevenfold/Alice in Chains/Machine Head (delete as applicable), I doubt "oh, but I can see Placebo at Reading too" is going to be a decider for too many people.

If Sonisphere had all twenty or twenty four of their acts on exclusives, that would be truly incredible and unprecidented.

I'm not saying it can't happen, but it would surprise me.
