I might try and see if something less sickly and more unusual like avocado and chilli or lemongrass and chilli - I've tried Skittles vodka but it was a bit sickly for me - could see something with a chilli kick being really lovely.

Jelly baby vodka is good. they dont disolve but they soak up all the vodka and taste yummy... x

What have people found is the best vodka to use for this?

I'm a Stolichnaya fan usually, but will any old crap work for infusion? i.e., stuff you can get for a few quid in tesco?

we get chilli and honey vodka from the shops here. I think it's Ukranian. Anyway, we'll have a bottle or two with us for some vodka tasting, if you're up for it.

At uni a mate made about 15 different flavours and had a tasting party. The one that no one would drink was Fisherman's Friend....

I might have to combine my love of drinking with my love of Fruit Pastilles and make Fruit Pastilles Bacardi (not allowed to drink vodka)....

Seconding lemon sherbet vodka -- it's dishlicious. Jelly baby vodka's the best, though. It's incredibly easy (no filtering) and incredibly tasty.

Don't do starburst. Needs filtering and tastes minging.

Not tried Skittles (for some reason my local Asda doesn't seem to sell them at all), but have been experimenting with Toffee Vodka and I think I may now be about to bankrupt myself making "some" more..

made half litre of cheery drop vodka and same amount skittles on sat night. drank most of it, went to a club, drank quite a bit more in the club (amongst other "things" >< ) and drank the rest of the vodka when i got home. heh, only jus bout recovered today

Once you've made the flavoured vodkas how long will they last? I made a load today in plastic bottles and am now concerned that they won't last for the next one month and 3 days!

A very long time, I suspect. Alcohol and sugar are both preservatives.

Unless you succumb to temptation and drink it all, of course.
