Right, the pastillardi experiment has begun. The ingredients for the two flavours are as follows:

Pastillardi 1

175ml Tesco's own white rum

4 strawberry Rowntree's Fruit Pastilles

3 blackcurrant Rowntree's Fruit Pastilles

Pastillardi 2

175ml Tesco's own white rum

3 lemon Rowntree's Fruit Pastilles

3 orange Rowntree's Fruit Pastilles

1 lime Rowntree's Fruit Pastilles

I made these up last night. Not convinced there'll be enough pastille in the drink, but I can add more later. Results in a few days!

I made Cough Candy vodka yesterday. The good part is that it was ready in a few hours with an occasional shake and that there was no scum/sediment. Unfortunately the result is almost undrinkable it tastes like a third world version of Pernod.

I made Asda rosey apple vodka start of the week, took no time at all to disolve. The sweets taste wicked and when swigged the vodka last night before i went out, wooooooo very potent indeed, will be a good little tipple to keep me going!! ;)

wow, takes longer than i thought

so if i wanted to make rhubarb & custard vodka

  • buy cheap vodka

  • pour half into diff container

  • add some rhubarb and custard sweets to vodka

  • leave to dissolve

can anyone give me a rough idea of how many rhubarb and custards to add per say litre? Or any measurement, so I can work it out for the amount i make

I know it's probably mostly trial and error, but I don't want to make it too sweet and have wasted it:)

There's definite dissolving of the pastilles, but I'm surprised at how unappetising it's all looking. the pastilles are kind of flaking away, like bits of sunburnt skin. The bacardi is going cloudy, and mixture 2 is turning yellowy, but mixture 1 just looks kind of cloudy white and wrong. Fingers crossed it'll taste better than it looks!

Me liquid valium tincture is now on the go. Looks a mess but hopefully should be able to get a short, but decent morning's kip at the Big G complete with interesting dreams too. Using Blue Lotus (Cleopatra's Lily), an ancient flower that facilitates a dreamlike state, a moderate 'stone' then a deep energizing sleep.

If you wanted to do vodka flumps whilst retaining the marshmallow shape, I would suggest using a needle and injecting the vodka into them - for a long flump, maybe 7 small jets of vodka throughout it?

I like to make alcoholic jellies, using mixed drinks and gelatine. Two of my most successful have been Gin & Tonic and Cherry Brandy & Coke, though I reckon champagne would be amazing.

I'm going to try this vodka lark tomorrow if I have money - a bottle of werther's vodka sounds a must. I've also got a bottle of raspberry absolut at my parent's house that I haven't touched - might try adding some raspberries to that for a double kick. Hmm...

I can highly recommend Wine Gum Vodka, and also Haribo Tangfastic Vodka.

For speed it might be worth cutting up the sweets before adding to the vodka so they dissolve quicker!

I've got a bottle of skittles vodka dissolving in the bottom of my wardrobe and plan to buy a litre more so I can experiment with some other flavours, not sure what though (wine gums are out cos of the gelatine, ick). I'm just off to buy more skittles actually!

Cheers Wormfest, we made the after 8s vodka and she who must be obeyed has determined that it is fine for drinking neat. It's gone wonderfully thick at room temperature though I suspect that the beating sun at Glastonbury will render it a little easier to pour :D.

Big shout out to all who inspired us to make them there flavoured vodkas - we now have 500ml of each of the skittles flavours and two lots of the after 8s (500ml and 750ml). This does make us sound a little potentialy picked, but I'm claiming that DaisyLou's sister is the lush who'll be drinking it all :D.

I’m guessing Vodka Revolutions make all there flavours in a very similar way, anyone know the quantities of sweets etc.. they put in and if they use cheap vodka too?

Do the home made ones taste similar to the ones in Vodka Revs?
