Best live band you've ever seen?

1st or 2nd weekend? I was pissed off that I didn't manage to get tickets for the 1st weekend but went to the 2nd which also had the New Barbarians with Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood - so it worked out for the best in the end.

Actually, I think seeing him do that would have been pretty special. Being au-fait with South African music are you familiar with Lucky Dube at all?

Lucky Dube is another legend.

I am still sad to this day I didnt meet up with him again before his death. We remained in contact but we were both "too busy" with our careers to regularly meet up.

It's only when someone like that is gone you realise all the times you could have made the trip...but at the time there's always another time right?

Was lucky enough to see him in a tiny venue (200ish capacity) and I have honestly never experienced anywhere else the intense feeling of love and hope he generated in that room. It was so much more than just a gig...

The world became an emptier place when he left it!

I agree with the last statement.

He, along with a select few artists, have the ability to generate that feeling in a room. Any famous band today (U2, Kasabian, Coldplay, Snow Patrol, Blur, Oasis etc etc etc) will never be able to match the magical-ness of people like Eddy Grant, Lucky Dube, Bob Marley etc. Thats my opinion anyway.

Explosions in the Sky for me, Mogwai a close second with Why? in third.
