these headliners have absolutely no appeal to me whatsoever, im not going for the music, ill go reading for that, but still, i gave neil young a listen was totally bored, and blur i dont feel were ever anything special. I can see why the line up can be seen as good to some people but for eavis to claim its the best ever line up is a bit far i feel. Just my thoughts  Still really looking forward to it though.

None of the three big names floating around appeal in the slightest (I'm 22) but there are gazillions of acts to be announced and there are already a couple smallers acts that have got me very over excited (animal collective for a start!!!)

Whatever happens - it will be a great weekend. And even if it isn't a great weekend, Eavis will call it the best Glastonbury yet and we'll believe him.

Yeah me too, just the best line up ever claims were annoying me, but i cant wait to go to glasto to see bands i havnt heard of and totally random genres, just chilling out, in a way im glad there are less bands i want to see here than reading last year, at reading hardly got to spend any time with friends, and at night there wasnt really anything to do.

Didn't realise Neil Young had been confirmed as well

Looks like the Park will be the place to be. Or Jazz world (close confines of Brothers... where I like to spend my Friday night.)

Arghhhh I really hate that it seems like it's only young people who aren't happy with the 3 headliners (or at least who keep making threads about it). It's really sad that it's just reinforcing the stereotype of the young audience only interested in the latest bands being on the Pyramid. They are JUST THREE of MANY MANY bands. Why see it as a negative? There WILL be something you will enjoy somewhere else. It just means there's less likely to be a clash. Music doesn't HAVE to be incredibly cool and recent to be enjoyed. It doesn't HAVE to be on the biggest stage. Are none of you whippersnappers thinking of the Other stage, or Jazz World or John Peel, all of which have INCREDIBLE, not to mention very recent, popular with the youth acts? What about just wandering and finding something small and new, or just dancing with the Hare Krishnas?

Sorry for the rant. I DO understand, I'm totally uninterested in Springsteen and Neil Young, and only vaguely interested in Blur. And this is one of the less annoying threads on the topic. But I just had to vent a bit...

No offence, but just out of interest, I wonder how many people who are annoyed at the Pyramid headliners have been before? I don't mean to be patronising but I think when you actually get there, there might be a few poo-poo-ers of the lineup who realise just how insignificant it is.

I kind of agree aswell, last year excited me more ot be honest with Jay Z, the giant buzz around him was really catching everyones excitment.

But Hey as people have said i'm sure there are gonna be some awesoem acts elsewhere, does anyone think a headliner of the Other stage may draw a bigger crowd than any of the pyramid?

Getting a bit bored with this now...

I'm over the moon Neil Young is playing as it means I'll be seeing another act headlining another of the many stages.

Why would you just want to be stuck at the Pyramid every day?????????????????????????????????????

Thought I should go and see The Who the year before last and then decided at the last minute to see The Gossip. Bumped into friends I didn't even know were going to Glasto because of it and it ended up being the best night I've ever had there! All down to fate!

I think your post is pretty much what this thread is about!

We're not really having a moan, just clarifying that while we're not all too keen on the lineup, we're sure we'll be able to find something else!

Bar Blur i doubt i'll catch the others rather dull Dad rock in my opinion

(Blur aren't that much of a priority neither but;

i'll go with all my mates

I like to catch one Pyramid Headliner

and it will be a good sing a long)

Of course i'll go elsewhere and will undoubtedly find something to suit my needs

I'm f**king sick of this

"you young 'uns don't like young/springsteen, you must have bad taste in music and automatically like [insert radio 1/nme endorsed/cool band]"

well strangely enough not so much, i can and do dislike both sets of bands

I'm 42 and might go and see a Pyramid headliner or two for the first time since, errr, can't remember the year.

I reserve the right to change my mind at the time, obviously

Late extra: Radiohead was the last Pyramid headliner I turned up for, but was far too jolly for them and went to Super Furry Animals instead.... at least I think I did :P

i agree. i will watch blur cos i've always really liked them. in fact, i a really looking forward to them. but at the moment it looks pretty likely that bruce is going to clash with animal collective, and dj yoda with neil young. i'm not saying they're bad headliners. i guess theres just so much on that everyone can really be happy.

I agree people should stop talking about age so much. For example my favourite band, The Clash, split up about 5 years before I was born. Right now there's not much good coming out and I find myself listening to albums over 5 years old 90% of the time.

Anyway, the only problem I have with the headliners is Springsteen. I have no idea why he's respected. Sounds like Bon Jovi with trumpets to me. Blur I love, I can't wait for them. And Neil Young's rockier stuff is great, I've had Hey Hey, My My stuck in my head for days, but his acoustic stuff hasn't caught my interest yet. I guess it's not the kind of thing that you'll love on first listen so I'll give it time.
