Selling Laws - Do They Apply To Festivals?

So thank God the Great Neil Young has been confirmed as a Glasto headliner, but how is it that Hard Rock calling are allowed to get away with calling Springsteen's appearance and exclusive and Isle of Wight have done the same with Neil Young?

Surely this is misselling? Why are they allowed to get away with it??

If you tried to buy an exclusive last remaining Rolls Royce Silver Shadow for example and it could be proved the seller knew there was another one then the seller could get charged. Its very odd that its allowed in the festival world.

that's why I'm so glad Glasto confirmed him. Its the only festival I do though I would have seriously considered IoW if it had truly been an exclusive gig!

to be fair with the talk of fleetwood mac, they're current line up is just as american as it is english.

mick fleetwood & john mcvie - english

lindsey buckingham and stevie nicks - american

...tho I always wondered if the talk of 2+2 was a play on words hinting at them as one of the headliners. :P

I just don't see how they are. Springsteen and Young may be oldies but their music is being picked up by young kids obsessed with music, as they are generally considered staples of classic music. Fleetwood Mac certainly lay a claim to being a great, very successful band, but the kids that idolise Springsteen and Young have often not even heard a single album of Fleetwood Mac's. It's just not the same kind of fame - even if, in their day, they outsold all and sundry in terms of records.

And, don't forget, the Sunday legends slot is still empty.
