ralph250
Friday Pyramid; Neil Young; Keane; Lily Allen; Lenny Kravitz; Crosby, Stills & Nash; Ting Tings; Squeeze; Rodrigo y Gabriela; Duffy Other; Bloc Party; Justice; Sufjan Stevens; Vampire Weekend; Skunk Anansie; Courteeners; Jazzworld; Amadou & Mariam; BB King; John Mayall; Beirut; Tracy Chapman; Cherry Poppin Daddies; Park; Animal Collective; Explosions in the Sky; Empire of the sun Saturday Pyramid; Bruce Springsteen; Coldplay; Maximo Park; Dizzie Rascal; Rolf Harris; Dave Matthews Band; Katy Perry; Glasvegas; Tom Jones Other; Franz Ferdinand; Doves; Death Cab for Cutie; Calvin Harris; Brakes; Lightning Seeds; Anvil, Jazz; Portishead; Lamb; Jeff Beck; Youngblood Brass Band; Park; Mars Volta; Silver Mt. Zion; Okkervil River; Slow Club Sunday Pyramid; Blur; Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds; Madness; Fleetwood Mac; Seasick Steve; Joanna Newsom; Ben Harper & The Relentless 7; The Specials; Glastonbury Town Band Other; Bassment Jaxx; Lcd Soundsystem; Sonic Youth; Gym Class Heroes; The Coral; Cat Empire; Minus The Bear Jazzworld; Easy Star Allstars; Herbie Hancock; Tower of Power; George Benson; Acoustic Ladyland; Calexico, Mankala, Park; Fleet Foxes; Bon Iver; Scott Matthews; Errors; Little Boots JP: not sure about headliners; possibly...Glasvegas, Florence and the Machine, White Lies... ...I think with Bloc Party playing pyramid in 2007, for them to downgrade to other stage (as neil's updated them to) would probably mean them getting a much improved slot, so I think they'll headline a night. As such, I'm not convinced Kanye will play, so think Bloc Party will take friday, with a dance act to close the Other on sunday; I'm going with a return of bassment jaxx, considering they're playing festivals around the time. ...tho I dislike their music, I think keane will get a penultimate slot, and think coldplay are most likely for the 4th headliner spot if it is an english act to fit with the 2+2. As such I've ruled out white stripes...if the 2+2 is now incorrect then I'd go with white stripes over coldplay....Only other way I could see white stripes playing is if they were unannounced and played a secret gig at the park. I've got a feeling the park will have 1 or 2 pretty big secret spots this year. I don't think kasabian will play; They've already played a penultimate slot on the pyramid so I can't see them playing again until they headline outright; I really can't see them accepting the 4th headliner slot as it's the same slot in essence bar a fabricated name; they wouldn't have gained anything...the 4th will be someone who's headlined recently if you ask me. Bands that haven't headlined will want to wait. There is basis to the majority of the above, in them either working on a album, releasing an album in 2008-09, rumoured on this site or touring around the time. spudzzz
if any of these line ups come through, I will have the glastonbury with the most band clashes - and will leave fealing it was the best one I have been to, but gutted with the bands I missed wishin for the mars volta though
Roonwilldo
There is thinking behind most of those Volta have been confirmed for roskilde the following weekend, so they're around, and I just think if they were booked, then a park headline spot would be the best stage for them. Anything other than headlining a stage and they'd probably struggle setlength wise. Silver mt. zion, as they only released 13 blues for thirteen moons last year, toured europe end of last year (tho neglected england ), and again think would be great for a late park stage slot. explosions in the sky been confirmed as "end of the road" headliners so are perhaps around touring, haven't played yet and I can't see end of the road being an exclusive. Okkervil River also doing end of the road, so probably doing the fests; think we may well see them this year. Scott Matthews got a new album coming out. Slow club touring america then back for a few english dates in may, think they'd suit a park slot. Little boots has been touted as the next best thing, so will play there or JP I think. I'd go more with park, similar to santogold/laura marling's slot last year. errors are touring. The rest are confirmed/strongly rumoured. ...regarding jazzworld; I think amadou and mariam are big shouts for one of the headline spots, as they're confirmed for roskilde aswell. Portishead they tried really hard for last year, so I'm going with them getting them this year. hancock and benson playing gigs a couple weeks after the fest. Tracy Chapman playing a festival in belgium couple weeks after.

ralph250
like it couple of problems though there are a few bands which seem far too low down skunk anansie below vampire weekend sure they haven't been around in a while but if they do reform which according to some other thread who had spoken to their drummer isnt happening till next year, they'd be much higher especially if on the other stage Tom Jones before glasvegas and Kate Perry the in-justice Specials also seem quite low down :/ now more importantly Portishead and Mars Volta clashing thats horrible so is Blur and Easy star All Star good call though Edited March 11, 2009 by ralph250
popcornmaster
skunk anansie playing 2 dates at mondo waterrats (london) in april...so I think will be back for the fests...they may well be higher, but they've been away for a while so can't see them too high personally (great band that they are)... I've gone tom jones in a shakin stevens get everyone up for saturday morning slot. Whilst tom jones, specials and SA might be higher, I think they'd wish to strike a balance between oldies/reformations and contemporary. You can't have all the new bands on in the mornings. Katy Perry's there as playing werchter again the weekend after so think she's a strong possibility for pyramid.

ralph250
Even though this would be the BEST GLASTONBURY EVER, I can't see any of the following things happening: Sufjan, Joanna or LCD Soundsystem playing at all, Minus The Bear or Brakes on the other, quite a few people playing too low/high as well, unfortunately people like Little Boots and The Courteeners have big label power to push them up bills and people like Scott Matthews and Explosions in the Sky downwards, despite being massively inferior! IRISHMANC
The Courteeners have big label power to push them up bills and people like Scott Matthews and Explosions in the Sky downwards, despite being massively inferior! -------------- personal taste isn't it, but there can be no denying that in this country the courteenrs have sold many more tickets than these acts over the last few years, more people would have heard and know the tunes and they bring much needed youthful swagger and energy to a quite geriatric line up. I hope they play 3rd from top on other stage personally before justice and bloc party on the friday night. now that would be some party!
