Screaming (shouting) Mexican Glastonbury wave

last year was my first glasto and i nearly wet myself in plessure when i first heard the gathering screaming of thousands of people sweeping the feilds then being hit by a wall of sound.

i now aspire to start one and hear it tear through the whole site, hugging every gloomy face!

if you dont no what im talking about, i cant really explain it..so il let someone else

does it have a proper name? have any of you started one?

That Crowded House Mexican wave was awesome, my daughter and I just watched it and it's brought back such memories for us! Such a wonderful day!

...I always think of this when I think of Glastonbury!! You can hear it coming towards you live a gush of wind then it whooshes past you!!! Fecking brilliant!!!

...those are the kind of memories that make is so special. Another for me is listening to the music being carried in the wind, getting louder then quieter as the winds blows past!! God, I sound like a right hippy!!

I was too pissed to stand up for the Crowded House Mexican wave, I'm afraid! But I was waving my arms up in a suitably rhythmic way! Loved it!

I left the site heading for the coaches on the Monday morning and bought a copy of the Q magazine, I got on the coach & was that done in from the weekend that I flicked through it then threw it to my g/f.

Ten secs later & she was ecstatic, it turns out that when we were listening to Crowded House & we were taking part in the Mexican wave .. a pic was took, so there we were in the mag right at the front.

I was chuffed cos it was my g/f's 1st time to Glasto & it was like a warm little thank you to her for coming.

I'm sure I recall a Mexican Wave sort of thing at the Sacred Space on either Wednesday or Thursday evening last year - or maybe I was hallucinating??

The cheering Mexican waves seem to happen every Wednesday, all evening. They start at the Stone Circle and spread outwards. Is this a different kind of wave?

I was sat up above the Park early Wednesday evening last year, and they definitely seemed to coming from 'town' at that point.

I call it the 'Mexican Roar'... and yep, it does seem to be triggered by sun!
