Filthy
Pop Will Eat Itself for me - the poppies and the stuffies always seemed to sneer at each other! I'd back Dreadzone to the end too!
Niblet
Was that the year that the Butthole Surfers were meant to be playing and PWEI headlined instead? I bought tickets for that to see the Butties but wasn't too miffed when PWEI replaced them, took until last autumn for me to finally see the Butthole Surfers as they played here in Nottingham, bloody 16 years wait though!! suchacharmer
The Libertines (also Babyshambles to some extent, but NOT Dirty Pretty Things). The Cribs Jarvis Cocker Muse Blur (mostly Graham)
Hellborne
The Cribs. They're not a fad, not an NME hype band and not landfill indie. Alot of these other bands don't need defending because everyone's pretty much agreed they're legends.
Hellborne
While I wouldn't necessarily fight to the death for these bands - it is just music afterall, I'd defend the following: Aphex Twin Radiohead FSOL The Orb NIN Squarepusher For me, they've not a put a foot wrong musically throughout their entire careers while striving for orginality with each release. sifi
Bob Dylan. Because he's the best at writing lyrics but such a long way. Makes most other artists lyrics look like nursery rhymes. Edited March 17, 2009 by sifimaster

lovelessrapture
I'd definately defend in a battle to death the following bands: Lightning Bolt Monotonix Boards Of Canada Boredoms When I was younger I would've defended the pre 1995 cure stuff, but in retrospect the Top & Three Imaginary Boys are a pretty bad albums (although the latter does have its moments of brilliance) And with lightning bolt the main argument seems to be that people can't accept that the best drummer in the world is an obscure noise band and isn't in U2 or metallica. sifi
Well, it's better than Bob's I'll give you that. I'd still take Howling Wolf's Killing Floor over their Lemon. Or even the Jimi version I heard of it once. Mind the Wolf's version is best of "London Sessions". When he was backed by a bunch of prolific 60's white blues / rock musicians. Crouchie
The most annoying things people say to me that start me off on a rant are... 1. Radiohead are morbid ( usually said by someone who does not even own an album!) 2. Muse sound like Radiohead. sifi
maybe.. but I'm only talking about When The Levee Breaks. The sound that Robert Plant makes, mixing the harmonica with his voice like that, it just sounds like nothing else... it's almost scary. not to mention the drum sound Edited March 17, 2009 by sifimaster

Mr.Tickle
I think some people think this is a "Who's your fave band thread"....that's not the point though is it? It's a band you like that other people slag off. Mine is : The Charlatans The amount of people that slag them of as just a reminant of "Madchester", so many people haven't even heard thier last 3 albums. I just find them totally consistent and always changing to keep things fresh
Messy
Sonic Youth. I loved Juno, but absolutely hate the fact that they were included in the way that they were.
