Could it be, In the papers today they are reforming this summer for gigs and after what happened in 1995 do you think it could be on. Micheal Eavis has said there will be two Americans and two English headliners

if it's true they're reforming (and who knows if it is?), then I think them as 4th headliner is quite possible. :D

this is a double edged sword

yes lots AND lots of people will be dying to see them but,

1 - the hype around those gigs will immense and very difficult, if not impossible, to live up to

2 - although they have all improved as musicians since 95, they were never that tight in the 1st place

i'd go and see them if they played, just to see them again, but i have a horrible feeling it could be like watching a car crash!!

It was Reading (I don’t think the Leeds part had been ‘invented’ back then though I could be wrong). The general gist was that Reni and Squire had both left, being replaced by members of Hot Chocolate and Simply Red (I’m not making this up!). Apparently several times during the show (especially Resurrection), they sounded so bad that it actually appeared they were going to grind to a halt.

As an aside, three of my mates were there and had taken quite a lot of spd (which dates this story somewhat). Anyway, they didn’t notice any of the above and thought the gig was amazing until they saw some of the footage back afterwards when they instantly realised what the fuss was about.

I think that was when they split (the Roses, not my mates). The fact is, even during their more triumphant gigs, they sound fcking awful (especially Ian Brown).

As long as Squire, Reni and Mani are tight we can all drown Brown's voice out! I'd be soooooooo happy if this happens though. And yes the reports on getting in members of Simply Red back in 96 are true. Aziz (Brown's guitarist) was Hucknall's guitarist - hardly a suitable Squire replacement. I think, when Brown started playing Roses tunes again he drafted in a guitarist from one of the tribute bands.

Really is a problem this, I LOVE the SR on record, one of my all time favourites but back in the day I always resisted seeing them live as I'd heard and seen on TV, that they were a real let down live.

Since then I've seen Squires with the Seahorses and was really tight with the rest of the band, plus Ian Brown live as a solo artist whilst not ripping up trees certainly seems to be a little bit better than the Roses days so who know, could work.....be nice to see them try.
