they played v a couple of years back and i have to say, its only a giggle if your the kind of person that laughs at motorway pileups.

it was always a bit of a car crash but now its just silly.

plus, they will be playing V cos they need the money (and anything they earn will go straight to the tax man) so doubt theyd make the trip to pilton for the pittance theyd get offered

Ha ha, thinkin about it I could imagine how bad they must be now. I seen them when they supported Oasis at the reebok stadium in bolton think that was 99/00, never been the best live but it was fairly entertaining, but SR seems to struggle to speak now never mind sing.

They played in either 2000 or 2002, and it was indeed a car crash, but a quite enjoyable car crash. I seem to recall they stormed off stage without finishing their set.

did anyone see Bez At the Queen Head (or what ever it called ) a few years back on a Thursday night. He was singing and everything - well if you can call that singing.

It was god awful but loved it and it made me smile.

I was terribly drunk at the time but thats not the point.

I saw them last August at Stockton Riverside Festival and they were very impressive.

Shaun Ryder has sorted his act out and sounded pretty good.

I reckon you'd all get a shock at the sound they produce now.

I saw them at the warehouse project in manchester in december 2008 they have sorted themselves right out. Quality set and all of the crowd was loving every second of it. it would make my glastonbury to see them there possible the park stage or something like that. they are working on new material at the moment but i dont think Eavis is to keen on them after the last shambolic appearence. But then thats what the mondays are all about!

Bollocks. I don't think anyone ever expects the Mondays to be a tight, polished machine, but a few years ago they couldn't even be fairly described as a band at all. At that point, The Happy Mondays was just Shaun and a few of his mates messing around on stage, living off the name of a once great band.
