Glastonbury food with pictures

I had a Growler as people rave about them, frankly I thought it was bloody disgusting

Hmmmmmmmmmmm

When I'm hungover I think it's the only thing that truly sounds like it'll hit the spot first thing in the morning, it's a disgusting concoction for sure, but it has everything I look for in 'guilt' food when I'm hungover. The ludicrous amount of calories it probably contains hits the spot for me and for the money I found it more substantial and filling then anything else I've ever tried on site.

But if I've had this I try to eat something more nutritional later in the day (it's usually the reverse, healthy lunch and dirty dinner) :D no need to feel bad for it though because I'm convinced it's impossible to gain weight, or even do anything but lose weight, at Glastonbury unless you're someone that parks themselves in one field all day.

A burger from Arnold's Alfresco. Tastes much, much nicer than it looks.

Does anyone know what happened to Arnold's Alfresco in 2013? For a number of years one of their stalls was located at the entrance of Jazz World on the main road just under the Greenpeace arch on the main road (Clapps Cross).

Arnold's made the best burgers on site, possibly in the world! :)

Arnold's were far from best burger on site, though I'd say a good step up from fast food burgers - they were better, dropped down a notch and not recovered in about 2005

Best burger last year was the Ostrich Burger stand which had got massive and was just fantastic. Huge black background with orange and green as I remember, and slightly moody staff but worth putting up with

Sure I remember a few years back it being one old dude in a little white and blue stall who was scarily evangelistic about the health benefits of the plethora of ostrich meat things he sold, kinda miss him. Maybe they don't let him out anymore

A new sub-topic of conversation - how many extra meals on top of breakfast, lunch and dinner do you typically fit into the Glasto day?

The answer is as many as I possibly can. Glasto food is as important to me as the music. I want to sample as many culinary delights there as possible. While I say many more meals, what I mean is loads of snacks and little meals in addition to my three square meals.

Mmmmmmmmm......churros and chocolate.

When I wake up - pretty much always 8am, no matter what (curse you, brain!) - I'll have a tea and a granola bar of some form. Then I'll start getting my shit together, and have something bacony/eggy/breakfasty at about 10-30.

Lunch will be about 1-30, with a nice cold pint, and dinner is 6pm, again served with a nice pint.

Cans will suffice inbetween.

I'll need a bit of pudding after dinner, so maybe a pint of brothers - then I'll switch to the whisky for headliners etc.

I'll need a bit of something at about 1am then - it's got to be something meaty, really - it always seems to be a roast pork baguette. I can't resist the buggers.

The shame!
