Had my best festival meal ever this year. I'm not a vegetarian but I had a massive plateful of the most delicious salad bits and pulses etc in a tent next to the Crossient Neuf tent in the Green Fields. Will be eating there every day next year

How expensive is food in general at Glastonbury... since im going by coach im thinking there might be little room for food and I will have to buy everything down there

Depends what you get of course as the veggie food is sometimes cheaper but usually around 6-9£ for a meal. Take brunch foods then get your dinner down in the festival is probably easiest

I dunno, I've had plenty of more expensive and far poorer meals in the real world. The food is an annual highlight for me - loved that blog, much that I agree on!

Last year was an oddity, I don't think I ate as much as usual and definitely didn't have a moment of needing to take time out before I go into roman-feast mode.

But I had some bloody lovely nosh. One soup so amazing it completely shut me up for the entire duration shocked myself. Can't wait

there was a van that was selling hot soups with bread in some funky flavours last year, I cant remember what it was called but I had some kind of cheesy bacon thing and it was ideal comfort food for a wet afternoon haha, anyone else remember it?

Sounds like Dorset Blue Soup Company. It was on the left just before Yeomans Bridge on the way to West Holts :)

Highlights for me are the Goan Fish Curry place and Pieminister. Le Grand Bouffe is alright but nothing special and overrated on here imo

I do like Pieminister although I'm a bit spoilt as there's one in Cardiff! Really enjoyed Piggie Smalls by the bridge between Silver Hayes and JP Tent. They did some great hot dogs!

A new sub-topic of conversation - how many extra meals on top of breakfast, lunch and dinner do you typically fit into the Glasto day?

lol we're lucky if we remember to eat once a day!! only been the 3 times and every time is "must eat more food" but it never seems to happen lol I will say the best meal we had was in 2010 which was a coconut curry with the trimmings at the Buddha cafe - yummy :)

Is there a decent fish and chips to be had?

I've not found one at Glastonbury yet sadly :( (Or decent chips really, though the Childrens World Cafe in Cabaret/Bella's field make a decent effort.).

I foolishly in 2013 had fish and chips after Phoenix cutting through the Dance Village. Was vile.

Hopefully Saucy Chip who were at Bestival, get over to Glastonbury next year...they was even better than most chip shops!!! Stunning stunning chips :D (They did fish to but didn't get to try :P)

I don't have a picture but I had a halloumi and something wrap from this Lebanese food stall between the Other stage and another stage and it was the most satisfying thing I think I have ever eaten. Will be on a quest to find it again next year

Manna Asian Street Food was really very good. Just as you approach West Holts but at the side of the path before you actually crossed over into the field.

The Cambodian chilli pork dish was up there with some of the best food I've had and a snip at £7.

Hope they're making a return visit in 2015.

The Hippy Chippy is decent (although wildly overpriced) for chips and cheese/hummus/ketchup/etc. (no fish)

The Sea Cow in Silver Hayes is OK-ish, but I wouldn't call it anything near as good as a proper northern chippy.

Im a Veggie and I know that obviously there is loads of Vegetarian food at Glastonbury. But anyone got any recommendations of the best??

I wrote earlier about this. I'm a massive meat eater but had my best ever festival meal this year in a veggie cafe next to Crossient Neuf tent in the Green Fields. Was delicious
