srvman,

sorry mate - gotta disagree with you big time.

Sam and the gang at Get Cape are incredible live. Their performances never seem to get any better to me as they are spot on anyway - but they deffo dont get any worse. The only bad thing I can say about last years Glasto did was it rained at the start - but thats about it.

Sam was supposed to be starting to gig around April this year but have not heard a thing about live dates and so maybe more time is being devoted to the new album. Also he seems to be deep into these club nights that he arranges down south so maybe that is keeping him busy.

I must say that if Get Cape Wear Cape Fly are not at Glasto this year I will be VERY disappointed as they are always a highlight of the festival.

I spoke to Sam (GCFCF)'s manager a month or so ago about him doing an event in May and at that point they couldn't confirm anything as they're recording the new album so I'll doubt he'll play Glasto frankly, especially after playing the Pyramid last year.

i understand ur point mate, im just going on past experiences, first time i seen him he was soooo drunk, next time he actually said sorry for the last belfast gig as he was so drunk he forgot the words, then gave a real below par performance, i admit though he was better at glasto especially with schlomo....however, for a period he was my favourite musician, i was even about a day away from getting the GCWCfly symbol tattoo...i thnk if u ever see a bad gig it tarnishes it for a while...hopefully he comes with a new better album next year, hopefully its to the same level as the 1st the second had a few too much politics for me....

anyway i thnk hed be better suited for acoustic tent...

I love the Cribs but saw them last year and was really disapointed, not sure if it was completly down to the sound quality but i found it really hard to even work out which song was being played ! i only stayed half an hour then went off to see something else ! (still love them tho)

wow srvman,

That gig when he was drunk sounds bad. Sorry you saw a bad gig. I have seen him live 5 times and each times has been superb. But yeah - not surprised you were a little critical after a bad gig and a below par one. Point taken.

At one of his gigs, I saw how Sam could drink - and boy... could he drink!

Anyway, still hope they do Glasto as I do think Get Cape are genius. A major factor in me saying that is usually when bands release the 'difficult 2nd album' they are usually a let down. At best you can hope it touches upon the greatness of the debut album. But with Get Cape - I found it hard to choose which of the 2 was best - and that is a great accomplishment.

You got a good taste in bands anyway srv.
