To be honest, after booking Neil Young, Blur, Springo and Franz Ferdinand, they could put a giant image of the BBC2 Test Card up in the secret slot - I wouldn't care! I'm delighted with the bookings they've made. And like many on here, I haven't rated Coldplay since Parachutes, and they are a hugely commercial band, etc. etc. blah blah blah. But that is why we have cider tents people!

Wild horses wouldn't drag me to watch Coldplay live - they're just too Tesco for me nowadays - they are to music what Jamie Oliver is to chefs - fat, commercial, overblown hype. But hey, lots of folks seem to like 'em, so good for all you Coldplay fans if it is them, and here's hoping for Lily Allen, Amy Winehouse, Pete Doherty, Will Young, Robbie Williams and all the other yawnworthy Sun newspaper-sponsered no-marks who cart themselves out for free publicity/free paydays once a year! lol They seem to make people happy though, so who the hell am I to complain?!?!

As long as I get my Decemberists, that's all I'm hoping for now...PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!

I cant stand these plinky-plonky piano based 'Indy' bands who write every song like its the last one at Knebworth and everyones got their lighters out. Coldplay, Keane, Travis, they all lose there edge after they make it big and become very Tescos safe, over-bloated, self-important and boring.

I feel like I should apologise a bit for being a Coldplay fan, but am just as excited by so much other music too that I am positively bursting with delight at the possibility of Tom Jones and Madness on the same weekend too!

Anyway, I have just had a look at the CP website http://coldplay.com/ which has a rather large gap in their tour itinery between 21/6 and 1/7- I think it looks pretty likely that they could be heading Pilton's way.

well, the early stuff and not really the singles...not actually listened to vida and wasn't too keen on x&y, but some of the album stuff off parachutes and rush of blood was excellent; some nice alternate tunings aswell.

the singles annoy me, not sure whether that's just a case of being overplayed or that they feel more contrived....similar to crimson king's statement about every song like the last to be played at knebworth...but some of the early album's material is beautiful; spies, sparks, high speed, green eyes, politik, rush of blood, amsterdam, god put a smile on your face.

I like them, in a kin of disposable pop kind of way. Like everyone it seems, I also think the first two albums were where they were a bit more solid. There's one or two tracks off each of the last two ones I like-ish, but they do indeed fit Crimson King's amusing description. Although lighters mate... What decade was *that* ??

By the sounds of it, and the vibes you pick up, most people would be distinctly underwhelmed (me included) if Coldplay were the mysterious 4th headliner

Its a pity Embrace seem to have drifted into obscurity - they would have pacified both the pro & anti Coldplay factions.

If Coldplay do appear then great, if not, maybe next year....

I hope Coldplay. Pending major clashes i'll be there. They have some great songs and done some great sets there as well.
