Anyone started packing?

I'm a glasto virgin, but as soon as I'd paid the deposit on the tickets I got a cheap tent, sleeping bag and self inflating mat off ebay, plus a few random things in tesco that were reduced to £1!!!

Got the flights booked there, just have to organise the friends so I can get the return sorted! My sister is already complaining about how excited I am, although she is now admitting the time is really flying by and June will be here in no time

I have had my Glastonbury box out, unpacked it looked at what's there wrote a mental list of things i need to go out and buy and packed it all away again. I'll probably do that at least 10 more times before we go!! 94 days!!

not started packing but I have bought waterproof jackets for me and my other half. Was planning to go and start looking for my new tent today but the shop still has not put them all up. I am gutted I have been looking forward to it all week.

I think I may have to start writting lists soon. I have a list obsession lol

Decided to go minimalist this year, here's my plan...

Shove a spare t-shirt and boxers in a bag along with sleeping bag and tent and I'm off, buy booze on the way... takes all of 5 mins and avoids taking loads of non-essential items that I never use anyway, leaving space for anything I may acquire while there.

Good shout about wind-up phone charger though, there's one in my bag already along with the wind-up torch/radio... bugger, my plan has failed already!

Ayup kids,

just wondering who has actively started packing for the big G?

Theres alot of talk about tents and who has recently bought or planning to buy new for this year.

I have got new wellies and a lightweight waterproof jacket (what an optimist I am!) and considering a new tent as some of you know...I was even considering going to Boots to stock up on hand wash and wipes etc!

What stage is everyone else at? :)

I did when I got mine a couple of years ago.

Igloo MaxCold 40 Wheeled 38litres 56can L23.0" x W13.5" x H17.5"

Igloo MaxCold 70 66litres 114can L29.5" x W16.31" x H15.69"

It's 40% greater bulk by volume, but 73% more internal space; or by axis +6.5" x +2.81" x -1.81"; that's shorter (I guess no wheels?), but wider and longer.

The wheels also come in handy sometimes. But, if a Costco was near me, I would've probably got the 70 (for sheer bargain), assuming that Costco don't have the 40 Wheeled?

Not started packing but made a few purchases and created a spreadsheet on excel of everything I need want and well it just sounds good.

Then in a rare moment of organisational skill/boredom colour coded each based on what is essential in green, blue for things I'd like to take based on space, orange for things that if necessary can be purchased on site (and taken home) and finally red for just stupid stuff which i will not use don't need and are only kept on the list to remind me not to do it.

I need to keep the bulk size of my bag down so ill probably end up using my waterproof compression bags for some clothes and my 1-2 season bag with a fleece liner to make space for precious alcohol. Also as im traveling down a day early and going back on the tuesday ill have a 30L daybag with a spare set of clothes sealed in a dry bag (more to try stop the smell of smoke than water).

Hopefully ill manage to be strict I usually end up with far too much clothes and waste space with a fairly extensive medical kit etc which will just get paired down to the bare minimum.

Half my garage is full of festival gear stored and ready to load for the next time. Every so often through the year if I come across anything else that might be useful I add it to the store.

The excitement starts as I get closer to Glasto, usually in May, when I get the tents out and put them up in my garden just to check there aren't any problems with things like broken poles and straighten out any bent tent pegs. It's time to check the fold up chairs, camping gas stove and lights and revisit the 'Things to take' list and discuss with the rest of the gang who's going to take what so that we don't end up with three washing up bowls but no washing up liquid.

No actual packing yet, but I have started gathering stuff together in the spare room, I've been doing some shopping (BOGOF baby wipes in Boots last week, new fleece, some plastic wine glasses, lots more long socks) and my List of Doom is neat and tidy!
