Dissapointed with whats rumoured

I actually think the latitude headliners are a lot more interesting then a lot of the other fests this year, including Readings rumoured headliners, though I can see why pretty much everyone is disapointed, if u were expecing bands like Sonic youth, Flamsing Lips, even Bloc Party you are bound to be let down by the announcment!

People need to understand how festivals work. Your not necessarily going to like every single band playing every year, I imagine in past years you've enjoyed most the bands on the line-up, your not going to love it every single year, some people hated last years line-up, and will possibly love this years, it's just how it works, if you don't like it, go to a different festival. Leeds + Reading aren't the only festivals out there.

I think the majority of critisism steams from the fact that Reading in more recent years has tended to be a Rock fest and KOL, Artic Monkeys and Radiohead are well.. not traditional rock bands that most Reading festival goers want to see headlining.

i understand people not liking this year's lineup, but i don't understand all the accusations of this lineup being "weak"

arctic monkeys have a new album coming out and are hugely popular with the 15 - 19 group. many people are saying they're some sort of flash in the pan but they are ridiculously huge with teenagers. i really don't see this next album flopping. the last two did very well in terms of popularity and radio play. so, a solid decision.

kings of leon are probably one of the biggest bands around at the minute, like them or not. so again, a popular and solid choice.

radiohead don't really need an explanation at this point in their career.

so three very popular headliners at least who are all bound to draw in huge crowds. i fail to see how this is, technically, a "bad" lineup.

Talking with friends last night a few are talking about not going due to a lack of decent bands in this years rumoured line up hoping for a gogol bordello to liven things up mid saturday afternoon

If its true about whats being said it will be a poor line up

I'm a fan of all 3 bands, but I just don't particually want to see all 3 of them headlining at the same festival. Would have been nice to see some more diversity, or something a bit heavier. Here to hoping FR have some aces up their sleave

Dont get me wrong, I like Radiohead, but only in small doses, they're not exactly an exciting band, good way to stop any riotting though, you'll be able to cut the aiir of apathy with a knife

Only hardcore Radiohead fans will be happy with Radiohead... Personally im glad im going to Download this year (maybe Soni) and with the line up leak theres not alot there... either ive seen or that i dont want to...

Shouldnt have to, FR should not be using so many flavour of the months when picking their R/L line ups, it's a big middle finger to the people who have been going for many years, and says "we value the designer welly brigade more than you" these are bands that, when used in that combination (wouldn't be bothered if it was just one or two of them) are better suited for V

Anyone with doubts about Radiohead should have a look on youtube at the set they did at Glasto in 2003. songs like Kharma Police, Street Spirit, etc are awesome live.
