Ever Met anyone Famous at a Festival?

I was just curious if anyone had bumped into anyone even slightly famous at a Festival?

Band members, random people?

At Reading Festival in 1997 Grant Nicholas from Feeder came over for a chat after recognising me and my mates from a gig in Oxford earlier in the year. Nice chap. Probably too nice to be a rock star.

Met plenty of lesser known band members too but nothing to get very excited about.

At Reading 2003 these two guys came over to us and started chatting while me and 2 mates were sat by our tents... after a while they said "you dont know who we are do you?" we said no "we're the mars volta" they said... so i laughed and said "thats so weird cos I'm James Hetfield!... f**k off are you the mars volta" they did f**k off and later when I checked my program it turned out it was them... oops.

Everyone at Download meets or has met Phil Jupitus wandering around in the crowd. I've also met Brock from 36 Crazyfists, and my friend met that blonde wrestler guy from the band Fozzy.

a random bloke from anathema started chatting to me at download '06 whilst watching the footy on the big screen under the shade of an icecream van.. really nice bloke!

i worked with download radio in '07 so met loads of bands then.. bruce dickinson and corey taylor were the highlights

following on from this, i was quite gutted that i met no one last year!

Over the years I have met Benji Webbe (Skindred) he was really cool.Shane Embury (Napalm Death) so was he Dani Filth (Cradle of Filth) he wasn`t.

I met Scott Ian (Anthrax) after I stood on his foot as he was being interviewed but that was years ago at Ozfest Milton Keynes at least he saw the funny side.

I met Christina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil) she was lovely.

And I met David Tennant just before he was Dr Who.

Oh and I met Al Jourgenson (Ministry) What a nice guy.

Always random never go out of my way to meet people.

My Wife met Kerry King and Tom Araya (Slayer) got someone to take a photo of her with them.I had gone to get a burger so missed them.

Marina lake and alter bridge last year and billy talent and avenged sevenfold in 06 and met the drummer from lostprophets dad on the way home last year

bumped in to Ed and Alex from elliot minor last year, they rememberd me as i seem to run in to them every were and live in the same town as Ed.

Meet Phil jupitas at a panic! at the disco gig years ago in oxford, that was strange.

Meet Frank from Gallows at reading last year and Kelly from Bloc party a few years ago at reading.

I met Herman Li and Sam Totman(dragonforce) at a sonata arctica gig..does that count. And Jimmy Urine (MSI) at give it a name festival. Also met Hayley Williams back in 2006 at give it a name before they became big...shes lovely.

Mastodon - 3 times. Had a beer with Troy and Bill before Motley Crue, bumped into Brann/Brent later on

Spent the afternoon getting pissed with the Real Mackenzies and the Beatsteaks

I had a press pass in 06 so I met quite a few peeps, I was also camping in the artists campsite so that was... interesting to say the least.

Highlights were.. Pretending to care about meeting Jada Pinkett Smith while I was actually trying to meet her husband (but he wouldn't come out from backstage). Having someone from Cradle of Filth's wife paint my nails, hanging out with Brock from 36CF and then watching the guitarist molest some girl, right next to me! How ruuude... There are more tales but I will end the boasting here. That was a good year

I met the guitarist and drummer out of Wicked Wisdom in 06

Met the guy from Skindred at Download too.

I was in the garage night club once though and walked right into this guy and apologised, and he said "sorry about that mate" in an American accent. I turned around and thought "I know that face!!!". I ran and got my pal and he shouted "No way it's Duff Mackagan" and he smiled and said something like "hows it goin guys" before going downstairs into the VIP bit with the bouncer shutting the door straight behind them.

But I have met the Cancer Bats. Really cool people. And thats it.
