thomasowen
We have been though this a million times and it dose not stand up to inspection. There isnt a rock day never has and probably never will be.
TalkShow Bob
All three days are predominantly "Rock days" but the Friday at Leeds/Sunday at Reading is always heavier. I don't see why people disspel that as a myth, since the evidence is right there when you read the line-up.
VCK
We, me and you, have been through this in privous threads where I have charted past lineups and shown the amount of heavy acts on the day. Yes normally the heaver bands of the weekend are on sunday however the day itself is not predominantly heavy and the headliner is more often than not (by a long way) not metal. TalkShow Bob
In the past there has been acts that aren't normally typical of that day such as Feeder, 50 Cent, The Streets, Primal Scream, The Prodigy, Eminem and Stereophonics. But it is predominantly heavy. Not compared to a typical day on Download's main stage but still the day the heavier bands play on.
hearing_aid
Surely this is just arguing over 'genre' or the 'terms' used to describe bands? Calling it a 'Metal' or possibly even a 'heavier' day might not be tottally accurate but i'm sure everyoneknows what is meant. The Sunday does have a tendance to lean towards a certain type of bands compared to the other days in the Line Up (main stage). The Sundays at Reading would never be a line up for the Friday or Saturday.

kaosmark2
The thing it it dosent though. Even if you just go for heaver the theory dosent hold water. The lineup generally reflects the headliner of the day.
