Were tickets on sale last year

so, during the festival last year my mates got wind of rumours that tickets for glasto were availble for half price over the counter at HMV, i know the last bit was true but i refuse to believe that tickets were half price.

anyone confirm this once and for all?

No i don't think so. My friend bought a ticket on Thursday night and he paid full price. The last ticket was sold friday morning over the phones so i imagine they paid full price too. .

Whether that's true or not remember that this year is VERY different, tickets have sold out way in advance of the festival whereas last year they weren't completely sold out until the day. There will be no selling over the counter at HMV this year full price or not!

just to add my experience to this (despite all the claims that the festival did sell out last year)

i phoned HMV in Bristol on the Sunday morning of the festival last year and was told that tickets were still available, but they could not offer them at any discounted price (despite the fact that there was less than one day of the festi left ). they said that, until they received any official word from the festival that the tickets could be discounted, they would continue to sell them at full face value.

they did add that they didn't really expect to shift any at that price!
