kohoutec
To be honest I never expected there to be a 4th headliner anyway. Eavis is well known for his vague statements so it's come as no surprise.
jackarmy
I would settle for a Kasabian/Prodigy/Kaiser Chiefs/Primal Scream size act as this mystical " 2nd British Headliner " now to be honest, rather than ending up with a Kooks/Keane/ Fratellis type band on before Bruce. Dog Burger
F#ck sake so in other words were stuck with 3 headliners aimed at old aged pensioners... yipee :| Would it of killed glastonbury to book atleast 1 headliner us youngesters care about? Or is Michael Eavis that out of touch that he classes Blur as a young band still? Just read on the BBC Tony Christie is appearing now Add him to the list with Rolf Harris, and Tom Jones Pathetic. pineapple-tea
Oh no. If it was The prodigy I'll be truly gutted. But I'm still not sure what the fuss about this forth headliner is. Surely there will still be someone playing before the Saturday night headliner? So it doesn't make a difference, other than that the act won't be named 'headliner'. Hope this hasn't already been posted!
Bort
Was it Radiohead? Why must they play Reading instead of a good fest like Glastonbury or Coachella?

ThisIsWhereIStand
Yea, I agree. I'm fairly sure the Leeds/ Reading announcement is what has killed off the 4th headliner chat. My guess is Arctics or Radiohead. Now we will end up with someone in the mould of Keane. (please please please be Kasabian though!)
grandadcollective
Hats off to them. That's a shit hot lineup regardless of anything else. Congrats to anyone who's going to both, your in for a great summer of music. For myself, while I can only go to one I'm glad that one's Glasto
muddyslingbax
Spoilt little boy? Don't act like you know me just from this 5 minute conversation on an internet forum you've read. And i love 'new acts' and 'Old acts' just more along the lines of Muse, kasabian, Arctic Monkeys, Linkin Park for new and Led Zep, AC/DC, Queen, Thin Lizzy, Boston for old. harper11
neil saying no one would dispute the bands headline status is a little weak when we have neil young confirmed as a headliner, kind of, and in my book he should be below brue and doesnt warrant pyramid headline status jazz world would be fine for him hes just not that popoluar, could be very quiet at pyramid for his set
jenw
If 1000's are pleased then why do i see countless threads on this forum full of people saying how unpleased they are? And its nothing to do with MY taste just looking and seeing that glastonbury is bound for another Amazing lineup for the Dads and Grandads going to glasto with a piss poor attempt at pleasing its younger audience. stoneroses19
Stopped reading this thread after first few pages...why are some people so intent on bringing down everyones moods when 98% are just really looking forward to the festival season starting again. tylerdurden
i'll be honest, i'm f**kING GUTTED. some mates are going to leeds and even though i probably wont be watching the bands at glasto its always nice to wag something in their faces in terms of popular lineup argument fodder. springsteen just doesnt seem to cut it. considering cancelling my ticket. beLIEveR
Second paragraph. http://www.efestivals.co.uk/news/09/090330e.shtml A cryptic hint, lack of information to make a definitive statement, or an oversight?
tevaburger
sorry if this has already been said, i skipped a few pages to get away from the arguments. but surely it was Arctic Monkeys as the 'fourth headliner' just confirmed reading and leeds the same day the fourth headliner has been dismissed headlined before. hmmmmm apologies again if this has been said previous. sdaveak47
Until its on the official site i'm still not convinced, http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/news...chType=AndWords regardless of what happens it will all become irrelavent if The White Stripes are confirmed

tylerdurden
dont worry pal, its got f**k all to do with the "I dont like the line-up" thing, its more the money, 180 quid, then the travel, then the stuff needed and money spent it comes to alottt of money, and for NO acts that i dont like, its a bit hefty it'd only be springsteen really. I hope your mates get there tickets.

smiley4999
Could the fourth headliner have been kings of leon, kinda thanks for persuading everyone we're the best band ever. Their tour dates have a glasto sized hole
sdaveak47
You're way off the mark there - Neil Youngs' fans may not be as noisy as Bruces, but there's a hell of a lot of the them - in fact I'd say there's a good synergy between the two. dannypal
im guessing it was radiohead, but im not to bothered as there will still be all the co-headliners, and im not to bothered about the bigger bands anyway, or the line up at all, as long as theres one or two of my fave bands im happy, but if theres too many good bands your just going to miss loads
ralph250
he may not be your cup of tea, bu he most definately is a head line act Edited March 31, 2009 by ralph250
