Wickedfaerie
We went off to the festival site last Sunday and took some photos if you're interested. Have a look here! More activity started today and they started laying the metal road that the superfence is linked to.

nina3d
Brilliant, Wickedfaerie, getting very excited now. It was the flagpoles picture that really got me! And I'm amazed that you can tell where abouts on-site you are before everything's built like how we're used to seeing it.

Funkfarley
OOh OOh OOh.. How EXCITING! How did you get onsite? Are you the one (That i read in another thread) who lives next door?
Wickedfaerie
I live nearby; not quite next door. To get in, I just climbed the fence though I don't think that technique will work for much longer! Actually there is a public footpath through a small part of the site and plenty of places where you can just walk in.
William of Walworth
Bloody hell, Sam's Magic Hat Sauna, are they onsite already for the crew? Nice pix anyway
bombfrog
If you're climing the fence then you'd better make sure it's not the day they put the superfence up. You'd be trapped!

DaveMac
Thanks for posting the photo's Wickedfaerie - nice to see the Glasto site in 2009. Strange looking at the empty fields and shell of the Pyramid stage and to think of all the world famous performers who have played there together with the vast accompanying crowds - it's a bit surreal ! mouth
brilliant pics, thankyou. i've always fancied a trek down during the year when the festy isnt on but havent made the pilgrimage yet
paulo999
Thanks Wickedfaerie - The 'new' building next to the Kidz Field is the 2008 rebuild of Goose Hall, which does catering for build & event crew. It was there last year. A few years earlier it was an 'old' building plus thatch. Then the thatch got swapped for metal. Then the building itself got redone. You will see a "Goose Hall 2008" carving in the stone now. - The circular structure next to it appears to be a more permanent version of the marquee used as eating space for Goose Hall. I'd heard about this going up about a month ago, but not seen any pics. - William: The Sam's Magic Hat sign is left over from last year... I recognise the marker pen annotations! I. Need. To. Get. A. Life.

Its really wierd being there when its so empty! Seems so small Edited April 2, 2009 by cole4ord
Yorkshire Chomper
Great pics ! Hey Wicked Faerie, are you the one that posted the really long pictures last year of the whole site from the top of the hill - facing The Park?
mario man
Superb pics! Would love to go down there one day to look around. Can you just walk around or should you get permission from Mr E?!
glastofreak
Most interesting, especially the notice to expand the campervan field in the east and add one on the west. The creation of more gates is also of interest but it does not say wether is just on to the site ie easier access off the site on Monday or to keep pedestrians and vehicles away from each other at the super fence. I cannot see where vehicles and pedestrians meet since moving the pedestrian gate D so hopefully happier Mondays. Many thanks for the photos
