Dog Burger
I went out for a drive a couple of weeks ago (I live in Bristol) and before I knew it was heading south towards Pilton - couldn't resist! Pulled in to Worthy Farm and had a quick look about, gazed across the Other Stage field towards the Pyramid, got the goosebumps, and then quietly left and went up the Tor. Always does the trick to get the excitement building!
mario man
Well we have never been there and been the only ones. I should think it would be really annoying if everyone kept knocking on his door to ask. A couple of locals regularly walk their dogs around the site, so I'm sure it's fine to just come along, as long as you close gates; take litter home etc.
staggerlee
Great pics. I would love to go down there in before the festival, stay in a B&B etc, always wanted to see the Tor and Glastonbury Abbey aswell.
mr_bizarre
Bloody hell, Sam's Magic Hat Sauna, are they onsite already for the crew? Nice pix anyway Edited April 2, 2009 by mr_bizarre

mynameisearl
Yep, great photos, thanks for that. Really like the one of the meeting point with the Pyramid in the background, weird to see it without all the stalls in that area and surrounded by grass! Wickedfaerie
Here's the latest panoramic pic from our house. I'll try and add a new one every day; usually early evening as that's when it's less hazy. Because it's sunny here the photos don't come out so well - damn that sun!! My daughter sneaked past the security guards yesterday and went into the site - I'll try and get the photos she took on her phone later today. Well, news from Pilton: the traffic has increased - mainly with lorries carrying road/loos/fences/tipi poles. The coloured car park signs have gone up. The change in road signs and speed limit have gone up, but are covered in bin bags at the moment. More people are risking their lives walking down the busy A road. Security landrovers are all over the place. Security people are stationed at entrances to the site (but I know how to get in through a hidden footpath hehe!). The local Tescos has a more diverse selection of people shopping in the evenings. CCTV is running from cranes dotted around. People with land have had it fenced off. 'Private, please keep out' signs have started to go up. There is a constant faint beep beep from vehicles reversing at the site. Most importantly though - the weather is perfect. Wickedfaerie
Tesco in Shepton Mallet would be the nearest place. If not, Morrisons in Glastonbury. Wickedfaerie
Just letting you know there are some more pics on that link above. Pilton is very busy now. The verges have been strimmed to make it safer to walk where there are no paths. Loads of local roads have been re-surfaced. More and more signs have gone up. NB We always always every year used to miss the turning into the festival and have to turn round at the next layby on the right. Well, make sure you don't because it's now residents and taxis only round there, so you'd have to drive further to turn round. Isn't it exciting!!
