sdaveak47
hi all, this will be my 6th glasto and ive found over the last 3 times ive been, the line up is getting worse and worse and with emily saying it was going to be a momentous glastonbury this year i didnt expect to see a load of has beens headlining the main stage. what happened to muse, the killers, oasis even paul mc cartney was worthy but bruce springsteen and Neil Young? i know they say its not all about the music and agree but alot of it is the music. i think next year my money would be better spent at the likes of v-festival, leeds, reading. im not just having a moan and im sure i cant be the only one that thinks that for the £175 per ticket they should be doing better for the fans. please tell me that its not just me that feels this way and maybe post ya dream line up. srvman
way i look at it.... in 10,20 even 30 years time down the line i can look back and say this was a fantastic headliners, legends of music each night....... in 10,20 even 30 years time, oasis will be looked upon beeing so overrated supporting the new artic monkeys, the killers will still be shit...razorlight will be an invention where u can shave in the dark and ill have forgotten about the band.... im sorry i know you have an opinion and everything, but it really ticks me off when that opinion is so god f**king awfully wrong..... still you got your opinion I got mine....(im just happy mine is right)
Scott Martin 88
I can't believe the musical snobbery on here. Just because a lot of you grew up with Neil Young does not mean that he is any better than the likes of The Killers etc. (and yes i know it works both ways). Personally, im happy with the headliners as they seperate Glastonbury from Leeds/Reading and V. With all that said, i don't believe that the lineup should come into your decision to go or not. As so many have already said, its not about the music and i would like to think that many go for the place and not a particular lineup. In fact, scrap that! Whatever peoples reason to go is, i don't care because its the diversity in every sense that makes the big G so special.

nina3d
Hi robbo, If you'd just taken a couple of minutes to have a read through the threads already on here, and get to know the forum a little bit, you would probably not have used your first ever post to begin your first new thread on this particular subject. And you'd have saved yourself from getting a load of replies like you've received. If you have a look back over the past few days of this forum, you'll understand the context, and you'll have also seen that there are others who share your views. But they don't seem to be the majority. Basically, it's the same with any new place - have a look around, see what it's like, see what sorts of things people do and say. If there's loads of people all gassing about how brilliant Glastonbury is, they're unlikely to agree with you. Unless it's a troll of course! This surely must be... llcoolphil
So, you could have chosen, off the top of my head: Dolly, Daft Punk, Stevie Wonder, Orbital, Aretha, Faithless, Diana Ross, Dre, Take That, The KLF, Madonna, Simon & Garfunkel, The Prodigy who all could feasibly headline (ok, maybe I'm pushing it with the KLF but a boy can dream) but you chose Muse, The Killers and Oasis. MissB
This is a bit of a response to all threads of this ilk. Unless someone has seen all of the hundreds of bands at Glastonbury in a live performance previously and hated them all I do not honestly know how anyone can justify saying that it is a 'crap' entire line up. Live music is about just that, the live experience in a certain setting with likeminded people. Not to mention that 'crap' is an individuals interpretation, not a universal catagory. If you aren't going for the experience of Glastonbury as a whole and really are just going for the headliners then you really should but a ticket for V. It sounds far more of a better spend for you, And that's fine but just do it and stop moaning about it on a forum dedicated to fans of the festivals like they are meant to give a sh*t. This makes me angry as there are people out there who can't or don't get tickets every year because they are sold to people like you. It's not that you aren't allowed an opinion. I just don't want to hear it.

cran
Been said hundreds of times but why don't all the whinging, nay-saying miseries with all their "it's crap, it's shite" bullshit moaning just get the hell out of here, don't bother going to the Festival, stick their fingers up their bums and sod off! How can you say it's crap when there will be hundreds of bands, acts, freaks etc that you have ever even heard of. Sure, if all you wanna do is hang out at the Pyramid and you don't like the acts rumoured to be playing you'll maybe not have suchh a good time but for crying out loud..... all this "it's my nth time at Glastonbury" crap don't mean shit! Bloody buggery bollox the lot of 'em! I'm by no means one of these people that can't hear a bad word about the festival, things change, some good some bad, if you want it to be like the best time you went every time you will be disappointed. Man that rant felt good after a shitty day! xx
ArcticMonkeysUK
Oh do sod off with your 'efestivals Glastonbury fanatics are sooo intolerent'-type whingeing. People are allowed to say WTF they like and be as critical as they like of 'the lineup', or about any aspect of Glastonbury. They can be critical of 'the lineup' even before three quarters of it is even known But to start yet another thread replicating all the other existing ones on exactly the same subject as has been yadda yaddad on about already in a zillion other threads? Do us a bleedin favour.
