Soi
I just read this: http://www.######.co.uk/2009/glastonb...-michael-eavis/ and wondered how accurate it was? I was really surprised to read that ME was "was prepared to walk away" and also that "he has learnt his lesson and will be returning to the festival’s rock roots after being criticised last year for inviting rapper Jay-Z to headline to Pyramid Stage." I remember reading that last year's success confirmed for ME that it was worth carrying on and that he felt Jay-Z was a resounding success in the end?! Confused!! eFestivals
yep, as well as Eavis saying he'd never book pop acts. Like Blur, Lily Allen, Franz Ferdinand, etc, etc, etc. The normal meaningless shite.

FestMonster
i agree in a way that jay z was a slighty bad choice for a headliner but he attracted a good crowd and put on a good show i feel lucky to have seen him that night as we will never see him there again plus i like jay z anyway so i was well happy , put your Diamonds up ps whats wrong with duffy my g/f made me see her last year and i thoughht she was really good ps ps i know im going to get slated for liking jay z and duffy but i like all ranges of music and just like to see people live glastonbury is always the highlight of my year as the range of music is better than any other festival Edited April 3, 2009 by FestMonster

whatmidlifecrisis?
Another blaze at ME. Let us not foregt that whatever he does or says he still manages to put on the best festival in the world - bar none. Sorry but I'm am getting pretty tired and may have missed any irony in the above comments but please stop with the negative sh1t. It is so tedious and anti Glasto..... Roll on June. joshwarrr
i am not basing this on anything but i don't think he would walk away. and if he did then id like to think that Glastonbury would continue without the bigger bands. as for duffy she may have a good voice but her music has no passion. there are so many artist out there that have a good voice and musical talent but it seems like they have no passion for what they are singing about. plus i used to work in garage last summer and the radio was on all day and Mercy was on every day 5 times a day. it did my f**king head in. whatmidlifecrisis?
Don't think anyone was having a go at ME, and thought it was quite a laid back thread until you piped up, so PIPE DOWN!
joshwarrr
Humble apologies all (I had already apologised to Soi but the thread seems to have lost some comments during yesterdays downtime). I will repeat what said in my lost reply.... I must not post on here when I have just come in form the pub! I had just spent the evening with some anti-Glastos - you know the sort of thing "poor line-up, JayZ was wrong, too much mud, bad toilets, etc, etc, etc." These people had never been and I was finding it hard to keep my usual peace and love approach . When I got in and read this thread I got the complete worng end of the stick. No excuse but please accept my groveling appology. Roll on June!
