Got to agree - even though I tend to go from a base in Bath after assembling my gear, the 25 minute trip through Radstock then Shepton Mallett is quite thrilling, especially when you start seeing glimpses of the site and the flags through the trees on the approach and some of the bill posters work along the road leading up to the entrance.

I love travelling down, but then I quite like road trips!

Last time we went down (2007) I made a everyone in the car a packed brunch and off we went! It is probably the only day that I don't mind getting up ridiculously early! :P

This thread is making me feel sick with excitement and anticipation. I cant bloody wait for Glasto. There's no way i'll sleep the night before I set off on my summer adventures. I tried getting bladdered last year and still couldn't sleep!

I only live in Bristol, but I love getting up at 6am, loading up the car and then going on my jolly jaunt South for 45mins or so, then the anticipation of sitting, waiting for the gates to open...........

Oh my god, I'm going to BURST!

It's my fave day of the year too! We get up stupidly early on the Wednesday and drive from London to a Tesco near Bristol where we get breakfast (much nicer and cheaper than the rubbish you usually get at the services). Pick up any last minute supplies and use proper toilets for the last time. I get soooo excited about going to that Tesco!!!! Then from there it's only 30-40 minutes to the site.

Then on the way back it's back to the same Tesco :D 2 years ago when we had all the rain and mud it was brilliant going into Tesco on the Monday morning all covered in mud and smelling like a farm. I was wearing just tights and a hoodie (all my skirts and trousers were too wet to wear), one of my friends was barefoot (his only shoes were soaked through). I realised as I walked in that we were getting some strange looks and it struck me as hilarious - I walked round the shop on my own laughing out loud to myself, which freaked out all the housewives even more! :( ;)

i am so excited now!

we have an 8-9 hour drive so it's a bit of a marathon, but as soon as we're off the m5 and start smelling real air the giggling starts and the tingles and fidgets start, then when you get that first glimpse of the fence - ohhhhhhh! yeah, definitely closest thing to that xmas feeling as a kid.

can we just go now?
