don't think i'll bother watching them!

i used to like them when they first came out, they were really heavy and edgy.......for me they are too boring and poppy these days.

remember seeing them at reading just after the 1st album in a tent and i don't think i have ever seen such a full tent at a festival.....there were people hanging from the tent poles!

:P

their first album was excellent, i got it before it was re-released and it was very raw and heavy.

it got re-released and had been really polished and was no where near as good.

if you can get hold of a copy of the original debut album do so.

personally i think they were pretty good then and i think they suck big time now.....didn't one of their old members leave because he thought so too?

if you love their new stuff it may be a little heavy for you though depending on your tastes?

Woo more pop music at Reading, who they going to add next? Miley Cyrus .. ?

Is that the entire announcement? ... I guess they've added which days they are running things on, so NME stage on Sunday = Rock stage (with bands that look like they should usually be in the Look Up). So I'm guessing Dance stage will be on the Sunday. Interesting to see who they get to headline it, if it is MIA it'll be a difficult choice between that and Radiohead (not a big fan of Radiohead but definitely worth watching I would think).

Yeah the drummer left because of 'musical differences' ie did'nt want to play the more commercial stuff.

But if you have heard any of the leaked versions of the new songs they have brought back alot of the heavy guitar parts. And Watkins vocals are not as clean. So looks as if it might be a bit of a mix of old and new, more like 'start something' probably.

Which could turn out to be shockingly bad, but lets hope not. And yes the first album really good, musicianship isnt anything special but the rawness and heavyness is good. And the songwriting i think is pritty good.

Ha the comments on the NME article are fantastic.

"OMG I am sooooooo pissed off about Lostprophets even appearing at Reading and Leeds at all, let alone headlining the NME stage. Listening to Lostprophets is like listening to a cat being violated. Couldn't they have got someone talented to headline the NME stage, such as Foals, MGMT or Pete Doherty??? Oh well, I guess I still have Vampire Weekend and Florence & The Machine to look forward to."

Anywho I'll be watching them, have never been able to get in too Radiohead, bar a few songs.

Not gonna bother after watching them at V last year. They took the piss completly. Ok they had lost their 2nd guitarist but played 2 new songs and 2 of the last crappish album and then just last train home. Cam on late, left early and Ian was being a total tosser. Fair enough it's V but they had a good number of fans in the crowd who want to see stuff. No Burn Burn or Last summer even. Biggest disappointment of the weekend and i now find them a bunch of tossers even though i wanted them to be good.

Only salvation was they were 5th on the main stage below Muse, Phonics, Kooks and Maximo, if that was me i would take the piss.

*Rant Over*
