im wondering now does the first glasto you went to really set up your expectations for every other one you go to, im sure the people who went in the seventies and then the eighties, me in the early nineties and then people have come this decade all have different aspects of the festival that draws them to it

yeah, quite possibly. I know the 3 I went to in the 90s. (93, 94 and 95) had really good weather and nobody much I wanted to see on the Pyramid. So, now I expect it to be sunny and I expect to spend all my time in the further reaches of the festival, away from the main stages.

I think you might be on to something.

i always go expecting the unexpected so it hasnt really affected the way i view the festival

the big thing my 1st 3 (93/94/95) did set up was a long driven out expectation of glorious sunshine, being able to just lie down anywhere on the site, and sunburn

sadly, since the 1st 3, theres been a severe lack of just flopping down in front of a small stage for an hour or so, its so much more effort in the effing mud!!
