naked people at glastonbury?

Think the last time I saw naked people at glastonbury was 1999.

Does anyone remember the naked guy streaking during elastica in 1995?!?!

Don't think I'd have the ahem balls to do it myself (if you pardon the pun) but I'm glad it's the kind of laid back environment where people who choose to, can!

I seem to remember at V when I was there in 2004 Branson came out on stage with some girl who had won a competition to get her baps out on stage. I didn't see it myself (I think I was watching Amy Winehouse at the time) but read about it in NME or something afterwards.

I have been three times, and only ever saw real nudity once, back in 2004 I think, and up near the Tipi Village, there were a few tipi residents busting the all natural look.

My preconceptions of Glasto before the first time I came were that nudity was encouraged / prevalent. Just goes to show, you don't know jack till you've been and seen it all with your own eyes...

I have read on here brief mentions of the Naturist Field. There certainly isn't a naturist field there nowadays. And I do wonder if these people are actually referring to places like the Green Fields where there is a sauna where a lot of people walk and sit about naked on the small lawn area.

The saunas at Glastonbury are ace. Sam's Sauna and Lost Horizons(though they weren't there last year and it was another sauna instead). Most people go nude in the sauna and when the weather is good many sunbathe nude on the lawn. It's pretty much 50/50 guys and girls too. It's a great vibe.

I have often thought though there should be a much larger area where one can be nude, such as a proper Naturist Field. With a sauna or two, hot tubs, plenty of space to lounge about nude, and various other things. And it be restricted to just nude people.

They should also bring back the proper mixed open plan communal Greenpeace Showers again. Which they had as recently as several years ago. Everyone showered nude in a mixed envioronment with no problem atall, and it was much more in the spirit of the Glastonbury from the early years compared to todays where it's these sex segregated showers and private showers(The Kidz Field). Bring back those showers please!!! Bring back a part of the old Glastonbury!!!!

As for elsewhere on the site except for the saunas and showers, the only time I've seen nude people wandering about was in 2005 when this young woman(about 25) was walking about wearing nothing but a backpack and trainers up by the main path just up from The Jazz Field. She stopped off at one of the food stalls for something to eat! Also I saw a few nude people wandering about in the old Tipi Field.

I'd be well interested but I feel it is in the public interest not to show my not at all svelte old bod in it's natural state I'd get my baps out for Josh Homme, but I suspect he'd be more interested in the younger, slimmer girls *sigh* Or his missus...

Every year I see naked people. Last year I saw the man on his bike and a man in the crowed strip off and get on his mates shoulders, his wanga danga was bouncing around all over the show by his mate ear - nice! 2007 me and my Dad saw a naked woman pulling her suitcase through the mud at the Queens Head, she had the right hump! 2005 I saw loads of naked people, it was my first Glasto and I felt totally liberated! I would love to go naked but dont think I would ever have the guts and I am not sure that my fellow campers would like it!

Well, of course if you're a straight bloke, you would love a girl's dirty pillows to caress your back during a concert!

Imagine if it was a bloke, who chucked his boxers at, say, Lily Allen, and then his hairy balls were flobbing across another man's thighs! I think fisticuffs might ensue!

I think at a festie everyone has the right to get naked, but not the right to smear themselves over other people!

I wouldn't go barefoot at any public space - I know they say no glass, but you never know what you might step on, and I wouldn't want a spiked/infected foot to ruin my fun.

I think it would be cool if they had a naked art installation at Glastonbury. I've seen this programme on TV where this photographer guy goes all over the world, getting together a few hundred or so people to take part in a mass nude photo shoot. They could have something like this at Glasto, and maybe sell copies and all proceeds go to charity. So it all would all be in a good cause.

Looking at some of those old video clips of Glasto in the 70's, nudity was definitely more common back then. People prancing about naked by the Pyramid stage for example. Can you imagine that happening nowadays!

Heh heh, I wasn't being pervy! It's not that I want to look at other peoples bits, or particularly want other people looking at my bits (I'm officially obese according to my wii fit!)

But naturism is supposed to be very liberating, it's something i've never thought I'd have the confidence to do, but hey with the Glasto spirit, if some of the people on this thread are up for it then I might join in - try everything once kind of thing. Though I reserve the right to chicken out ;-)
