ok, not exactly a glasto band but..

new mastodon cd, Crack The Skye, is bloody awesome.

Its heavy but has layers and layers of melodies and nice complex bits

I was a fan before, but this is something else, the clean vox make such a difference over the previous growl.

anyone who likes proggy stuff shud check it out :P

Stuff from this/last year that I'm loving at the moment:

The Walkmen - You & Me

Been said already in this thread - great album and great live at Scala a few weeks back

Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago

Fabulous falsetto voice, strong song writing and great live too

f**ked Up - The Chemistry of Modern Life

Modern hardcore, the spirit of Black Flag lives on

Vivian Girls - Vivian Girls

Really like this, remonds me a bit of Sleater-Kinney which can't be bad can it?

Lindstrom - Where You Go I Go Too

Intelligent, forward thinking bleepy music

TV On The Radio - Dear Science

Edgy yet accessible, thier best yet imho

Deerhunter - Microcastle

Lovely, lovely indie with just a touch of prog

Portishead - Third

A long time coming but worth the wait. Machine Gun really rocks.

Fleet Foxes - Fleet Foxes

Beautiful harmonies, intelligent songwriting and stunning live

Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion

Moving sligtly more towards the mainstream and all the better for it, probably my favourite on this list

Fever Ray - Fever Ray

Moody experimental electronica with more than a touch of Bjork from Karin from The Knife

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - It's Blitz

As has been said already, great new album. Much more synth than previously but still got the New York edginess

PJ Harvey & John Parish - A Woman A Man Walked By

Love everything PJ has ever done, was not dissapointed by this at all

Bat for Lashes - Two Suns

Only just got hold of this but loving the folky electronica sound.

Fleet Foxes confirmed for Glastonbury, rumours about Bon Iver and Animal Collective - I'm hoping that some/all of the others play too...

CTTS aren't for everyone. They definitely took me by surprise. My friend once described the lyrics as what you'd get if you put an HP Lovecraft into babelfish, and translated it to Spanish and back to English again.

Did take me a few listens to get into them though. Crater To Cough In was the first song I fell for, so to speak.

I Am The Golden Gate Bridge by Creature With The Atom Brain was one of my favourite albums of last year i discovered them when i saw them supporting Queens of the Stone Age, Eagles od Death Metal and Masters of Reality in Berlin last summer.
