guyfawkes
On the train this year. Liverpool -> Castle Cary in about 4.5 hours £77.00 return well worth the extra money to avoid the coach in my opinion.

crimsonking
Was thinking of going horseback this year, very green mode of transport, appropriate for Glastonbury, do you think they'll have stabling facilities.

lianne and craig
Yeah, spoke to the guitarist earlier, apparently it was the second one that blew that night , the band are good mates of mine, they've nmade it to the regional finals of live and unsigned so hopefully will be going further two of them are heading to Glastonbury with us this year and the group is mainly a mix of a couple of mates and their various friends going up, should be a big south wales connection there Anyways, if youve got mates coming to glasto, tell them to join the group and im sure some of your people will know some of ours and we can all party like its 1999, ha! LEDZEP66
I'm going by coach this year, been by train last 2 years. I disagree about the trains having more space though. When your on the train everyones stuff is in the carrage with you, at least with the bus most of the stuff is put out of the way down below. The main problem with getting the bus is once you get to castle cary which is easy to get there that is only half of the journey. You then have to que up for another couple of hours to get the shuttle bus to the site, this is ok if its sunny but if its raining its a nightmare. Same thing getting home on Monday, last year we queued for about 4 hours to get the shuttle bus then another hour at the station to get on the train. They also jam you on so much on the way back, I had to stand up all the way. Best way to get through it is do what we did, keep a hip flask full of jd for the last day, makes the hours fly by Does any one know which gate all the national express coaches go to? the shuttle bus takes you to a entrance near the John Peel stage, is the the same one? ferrettpecker
Reading through these threads about coach v train, i think we've changed our mind and plan on getting the coach instead of train (if we can't get a lift down there from our mates who are playing) one thing that will sway it though - does anyone know if they'll let you put a trolley in the undercarriage of the coach? We're are both wimps when it comes to carrying stuff, so bought a trolley to take our booze down on, but obviously need to know if they'll let us put it under there or not! joshwarrr
it depends if i am in Guernsey or not. if i am i will fly to bristol then car it to the festival, if i am in norwich i will probably get the train all the way. but who knows it may all change.
