robith
http://www.nme.com/news/blur/44022 Blur have announced their support acts Given the proximity to Glasto, chances of these acts playing? A few are already on the rumours list
Messy
I was just going to make a thread on this. I'm seeing Blur on the Friday, well chuffed that Vampire Weekend will be there.

dj267
i would have thought Amadou and Miriam are an absolute, nailed down, dead-cert for glasto, seeing as they're around in early July. What other stage, in any other festival, would suit them better than the Jazz World????? HURRAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
robith
I havn't heard any of deerhoof's recent output but if it's anything like milkman was that'd be f**king awesome to have at a festival. Might scare the shit out of people though...
somecoolusername
I'm going to both shows and can't wait. The only ones I'm slightly worried about are Crystal Castles - the sound may not carry; I think they're more of an indoors than outdoors band and I'm not sure how the crowd will react to them and vice-versa. Flo's a great frontwoman so should be good, everyone loves Vampire Weekend, Friendly Fires have a pretty big sound and I've seen Foals about 10 times and love them to bits. They have a fantastic energy in tiny shows, but they've been great at festivals I've seen them at too. One satisfied customer. Edwin on keyboards in Foals told me they're not doind R+L/V 'cos they're recording, but Glasto's quite likely I reckon. We know Flo and the Machine are playing... I think Vampire Weekend and Friendly Fires (already confirmed?) are likely too..... Edited April 14, 2009 by somecoolusername
TomfromStroud
Vampire Weekend are pretty much certain aren't they? Especially after their use in promotion etc etc
dacbo
i'd say friendly fires and vampire weekend are very likely. I would have thought foals unlikely as they played fairly high up the other stage last year so would need to command a similar slot like JP headline which is all booked up. crystal castles are likely after going down a storm in the JP last year (though I personally thought they were shite, the yoof were loving it)

dacbo
But how do we know that they're not booked to play it? Or have I really not been paying attention and have all those slots been announced already?
glastofun
I'm really loving the Foals album, I hope they play Glastonbury...but they're not even on the rumours page.
russycarps
from what I understand echo and the bunnymen and doves are two of the headliners. I don't know about the other though, but I can't really see them playing this year for some reason. would love it if they did though, were very good last year. firecracker
i think white lies are the other JP headliners
pedmills
In have long suspected Amadou and Mariam would play the Jazzworld Stage this year, this increases the chances I think.
Curtains1
Errrgggg still dislike all the bands playing apart from blur so far, florence and the machine have one good song apart from that white lies and doves both dreary boring bands
Troop Dogg
So the rumours of Girls Aloud supporting them turned out to be false! I'd ACTUALLY rather see them over all the confirmed support acts! I want a refund!
