Its to avoid a repeat of last year

"Glastonbury Festival embarrassed as lineup is leaked two days early" were the headlines, the media jumped on the slag off Glasto bandwagon and made it out to be some embarrassing error, even though it wasn't really a problem at all.

If they say June, then if the lineup comes out a few days earlier then people might say the same thing again. This way they cover themselves.
