The Script

I am reminded of the "Death of Indie" article from the Independent a year or so again, allow me to quote a passage:

"You know who they are, these smooth-chinned strummers, with their smart-arsed, self-admiring band names almost invariably prefaced by the definite article: The Kooks, The Courteeners, The Holloways, The Rascals, The View, The Wombats, The Automatic, The Pigeon Detectives, The Hoosiers. Their turgid, tuneless banalities use all the oxygen between ad breaks on XFM; they mop up the soggy midday slot on the main stage."

That's pretty much how I feel. I've nothing against them, seems like they can play a bit and have an ear for a tune, but it's all just so banal.

+1

I didn't even know who this band were until one day I turned on the telly to watch Dickinsons Real Deal and on came "From the amazing new talent The Script". And now all my mates are like bumming them! It's bands like these who don't deserver there success, how come these guys are more sucsessful than groups like Interpol, Doves, Sonic Youth, The Walkmen etc. We have all these amazing new (well apart from Sonic Youth) bands whith exeptional talent, yet all the pish bands like The Script or Kings of leon get all the sucsess.

Cheers,
