I'm usually okay until I get back to work and remeber that in the real world, people are just not like Glasto Goers!! :P:)

It lasted about three weeks last year, it was horrble! :)

It is made a bit better though when people on here start to post their pics of the festival though! :)

I quite like getting home and having a nice cuppa and a bath - its normally 3-4 hours after I am home that it starts to kick in.

I have Virgin+ though so I tend to record all the glasti stuff thats on so I can then re-watch it :)

what a depressing thread :) not even there and thinking about the end

It doesn't really hit me till a day or 2 after

monday while packing my faith in mankind is replenished for bit, it feels good,

it feels almost as if left wing politics could actually work, then you leave and realise that we're in the minority

Mine lasted for two weeks but even then I felt terribly nostalgic. My two friends had a great idea, they returned from Glasto and the day after flew to Spain and enjoyed a week of sun and relaxation. I imagine that would really help with the initial comedown. Fortunately I am doing something similar in that I am going to a 60th in Portugal 2 days after Glasto.

mine kicks in properly when i have a proper wash and goes on for weeks. the first jaunt to the supermarket or whatever where everyone is all frowny and insular as a matter of course is always a right kick in the teeth too.

at least if the deposit scheme runs again we only have 3 months to be miserable before we're gearing up for the next one though. :)

I don't experience a Glasto' comedown: on the Sunday I usually go through a short period of being a little sad that it's all coming to an end soon, but after I leave the festival I'm totally relaxed and almost completely impervious to stress for quite a few weeks. Then I start looking forward to the next one!

i used to be able to get over it after a couple of days but the past few years it has taken at least 2 weeks. now that obviously has something to do with age, but i also think that as you get to go more and more, you get better at doing what you want each year and are so able to enjoy it more and more

its not sad at all discussing this - its all part of the magic

and as a fledgling space cadet once said to me.. you have to come down to go up

ps 432 days to the 40th anniversary festival

I don't suffer nearly as badly as i used to. I just keep going to festival after festival so that i've got something to look forward to. I then buy tickets for next year's fests when they go on sale early to ensure i know i have a summer of fun for the following year.

It's only when i pack up my tent for the winter that i slump. And then i slump really badly.

I discovered my answer to this about 8 years ago, move to Cornwall :D I loved living in Birmingham but returning there from a fest was a real downer. Don't get me wrong, I still have that sinking feeling when leaving the site on Monday but after an hours drive getting home, when I see the river, take a walk on the beach and then go to the local to discuss the last 5 days of tomfoolery, it doesn't seem so bad and I realise how lucky I am :P (and look forward to the next fest of the year, hope I'm not being smug :D )

I really look forward to having a lovely bath all the way home, and then as soon as I'm in it i think - No, this wasn't worth it - I want to go back!

I now actually find my comedown starts on Sunday afternoon - I hate the thought that it's my last day. I still enjoy myself and party as long as possible of course - but it does nag at me.
