jameshunt
If sent out with the tickets we're only talking about a day or so earlier!
burnageblue
postage costs would go up hugely too. Bad idea all round I reckon
HOT JON
I'm not sure they would. We already pay £5+ for special delivery tickets - I'm sure that wouldn't change with a programme thrown into the envelope.
Icewulf
The thing is, even if they sent them out, people would forget to bring them... And then they'd have to get another one. Thus undermining the whole point of your scheme.
Josie's Cat
Agree with spliffy, they should send out a 'bare bones' programme, just basic what's on where, no extra info or anything, and then you get the full version when you arrive. You could even opt to get sent the online programme or not, so if you didn't want to read anything before you arrived, you wouldn't be tempted. I love the internet. Alcatraz
Is all of it written and refined by the time tickets are sent out? Or by the time it goes to press, god knows how many weeks before tickets go out?
Kyelo
I would like it sent out but like people have already said, cost would be the major draw back. An electronic version would do the job though, a PDF file or something.
BlackHole2006
I disagree. I love reading the program with my first few tins of the day, or cider in the sun around the jazz stage. One of the greatest moments in life.
Paul ™
Why would you want it sent out? No other festival would/needs to do this, and it is impractical for many reasons stated above.

Curtains1
Couldn't put it better myself! Thing is, 99% of the lineup is up online before the fesival anyway.

Turts
Who needs a programme before hand when we have the mighty Halvin and his invaluable clashfinder??? Be honest, if you want to know the lineup and times before you go then there are ways of finding out. For myself I like to have the goodie bag when I get there as it adds to the excitement of getting there.
russycarps
this is all sadly just another reflection of the "I want it and I want it NOW" society we live in these days. Noone can be patient anymore. It's why the economy is f**ked, because noone can be patient and wait for things, they have to have them NOW and thus rack up horrific debt on their credit cards, rather than save up for things over time and live within their means. Modern life is rubbish.

pedmills
Nah, its a great early moment. You put your tent up, and then you have a drink and sit down to read the programme. Its great discovering bands you didn't realise were playing, and reading the descriptions of the bands etc. I like it how it is.
bexface
An online version might be an idea, but to be honest I do like getting the programme as I walk in!
Sam Crawley
I think this is one of those Marmite issues where neither side has any chance of persuading the other anyway, so give it a rest all The key reason I want the programme is so that I can 1. look into bands I haven't heard of and 2. start thinking about clashes and what I'm gonna do about them. For 1, the line-up will of course be available online at some point, so not a problem. For 2, does someone on eFests still produce the clashfinder? As obviously the released line-up doesn't have times.. As long as I get that I'm not bothered about the programme, which is obviously full of random info about the charities supported etc. Now here's a 21st century idea - how about Glasto put it up as a pdf for download when it's ready? Bingo, everyone's happy!

Paul ™
Simple, effective, Sam, I salute your genius. Great f***ing plan and no earthly reason why they don't do that.
Kyelo
To stop everyone and anyone downloading it? Remember the programme is included with your ticket. If you want an extra or even lost yours and want it replaced - it's £10.
