Hidden Gems

Recommended Posts

While we are all waiting patiently () for the announcement, thought we could play a little game of hidden gems.

Basically album tracks, or tracks from lesser known artists which you would recommend your fellow e-festivallers to have listen to or download.....

I'm going to say :

Letter From Man to God - Dan Le Sac vs. Scroobious Pip, from the album Angles - lyrically genius with an nice touch of drum n bass to top it off!

Here Comes The Breeze - Gomez, from Bring It On - one of my all time favourite tracks, just superb!!!

I'm very much a fan of "Holiday" off The Kink's Muswell Hillbillies album. But they're not really lesser known!

''Skylon!'' by Gruff Rhys on the Candylion album...15 minutes of absolute genius...possibly the best thing he's ever done...(and I say that as a massive Super Furrys fan.) It tells the story of a bomb disposal expert who's on a plane thats hijacked.

The first line is 'The gangway gave us shelter from birdshit and the rain''...although the best line has to be 'Skylon, Skylon way up high, cutting all the wires as the people start to cry'...how can you not love it!?!?!

If you haven't heard it download it now!

Tame Impala, Glass half full, very good band (I think from Australia)

Anything by Nouvelle Vague, a parisian band that do sunny days parisian style covers of punk songs, lovely for BBQ's !!

All the Old Northern Soul tracks the Night by Frankie vali and the 4 seasons, Doubie Grey etc...

Catherine wheel, you insensitive f**k, stunning for such rude lyrics

Vapour Trail, Ride, not exactly hidden all though they tried their hardest, one of the most stunning shoe gazing songs of all time.
