How efficient were seetickets in getting the tickets sent last year?

I've just realised I've made a very annoying cock-up. This time two weeks ago I didn't have a weekend ticket...now I have two. I missed out on the original sale due to being on holiday, and was irritated once I saw the awesome lineup (I wasn't in the loop on the rumours this year) as I hadn't actually planned to go...

Anyway, a mate back home said he'd keep an ear to the ground for a ticket, but he's one of those mates that generally says one thing, then forgets! Either way, when that batch appeared on SEE on the 17th, I got one, but to cut this dull anecdote short, said mate acted out of character by being on the ball enough to get me one as well (yet has been so busy with work he has just thought to ring me today).

So now I have two tickets, and the obvious thing is to put one for face value on ebay, or wait till a little nearer the festival and advertise it on here to someone who is desperate to go (but not have to pay tout prices). However, it's bad enough when it gets to ticket time worrying about your own ticket arriving, let alone worrying about having an 'order' (so to speak) to fill too. Anyway, the point in this thread is just to ask how efficient were seetickets (and their delivery company of choice) last year as I didn't go. I've always got my ticket a good week or so before the festival, but I do remember my mate complaining last year as he only got his on the Tuesday before. If that happened this year I would not be able to guarantee to get the ticket to someone in time for the Wednesday, and I'd feel a bit crap!

Right now I'm just tempted to avoid the anxiety and stress of this by selling it (face value) outside the gates. However, despite having been to 3 previous weekends, I've never hung around trying to sell a ticket before so I'm wandering how much demand is there for a ticket down there? Or will the touts have way more than enough to satisfy the demand for people who go down there? I can't really afford to turn up and find the going rate for a ticket has plummeted to £120 or something.

(and yes, I'm aware I said in that Viagogo thread that I had a mate who bought one from there, but he's going to Leeds, and like I said I just found out I had a spare).

Isn't it your friends prerogative to sell the ticket he brought for you without consulting you? It reminds me of that Curb your enthusiasm episode where Larry buys Ted Danson a Jumper which he stains after handing it to Ted and they then argue over who should get it cleaned. ANYWHOOO back on point, Seetickets were VERY inefficiant in sending me my tickets last year. My tickets came 6 days before the wednesday I was due to leave and by the time I left on Wednesday morning my Brothers day ticket for the Saturday hadn't even arrived (it eventualy came on the Thursday). The previous 2 years the tickets came about 2 weeks before.

If you paid 4 quid for the insurance you could have cancelled them.

Up to you though, my mate once had an extra ticket (claimed he paid for one and got sent two, probs all lies) and too it to the fest with him, he didn'rt care how much he got for it, just wanted extra spendin money and sold a full weekend ticket for like 85 quid.

You could make some serious dollar on ebay though although you'll get labelled a cock in doing so

Post on here, and say the area you live, then you can sell to somebody that lives within a lets say, 1 hour radius of you. That way even if you do get it on tuesday, you can arrange to meet no problem. Also avoids the postage/recieving/will i get scammed, as you'll be face to face with the purchaser.

Yeah just advertise it in the tickets for sale forum (at face value and not a penny more, of course), and say "successful applicant will have to be willing to meet me at xxxxx train station. This is non-negotiable."

Obviously jazz it up a little, but my point is you'll have no problems shifting it should you wish to do so.

Of course if you tout it for profit online it's a different story, you then become liable for the delivery of that ticket and potential legal action/ loss of that money as compensation if something goes wrong, be it your fault or not. And it would be your fault for being greedy in the first place ;)

See tickets were super late last year. I know some people were getting the tickets on the same day they were setting off. I would definately sell them to someone you can meet rather than relying on the post to get them to them in time. See send them out late to stop touting but it isn't fair if you genuinely just need to sell a ticket or two that you've over bought.

I got mine from Ticketmaster last year and they arrived the weekend before, so again very late.

half my group got ours on tuesday and some didn't get theirs at all and had to pick up replacements onsite when we arrived. they are normally good and will get it to you with a week to spare at least.
