Laura_Babs
A bit premature, I know, but I started packing last night. I was all Glastonburyed out on the other things to do (and it was a quiet forum day), so I thought I would make a start. Only I discovered that I need most of my things before the end of June so I ended up packing my boyfriend stuff instead. Anyone else started packing or just me being slightly insane? joshwarrr
I put up my tent cus it was raining. Wanted to check its waterproof capabilities, and in doing so discovered that i didn't have any pegs or the two poles to pop the centre up. So i bought some pegs and am going to by some poles. Lucky eh?

Laura_Babs
Funnily enough with it being a quiet forum day yesterday I did think about it! But then I had indecision as to whether to replace my 125L case with a more manageable rucksack so I held off! I wonder how many other festivals people get so excited about that they start preparing this early!
1stGlasto'09
I have got all the basics packed and it looks way too much to carry, I want to just go commando with the tent alone and what I am wearing when I arrive on the Wednesday. It does seem we are being hastey packing so early but with the nostalgia surrounding my first Glasto I cannot help it, so excited its all i think about lately...recent confrimations have me grinning with glee so many artists I want to see

1stGlasto'09
I moved this past year to a different part of the country and my commute has grown to include 28 miles of motorway. Every morning at the moment, it feels like Glastonbury. Particularly when it was sunny, but even this morning in the rain, it is so early that I am thinking that its just like the Glastonbury trip!I am so so exited!!! That's why I start packing so early - I need sooo much time to cut down my packing list as I always bring too much and when it rains I end up wearing the same stuff again and again anyway as I only bring limited amount of thick stuff. BIG question @ Glasto
We havent started packing yet but have got all the gear stored together in the garage. We put the tent up at the weekend and discovered part of it was broken so its a trip to Decathlon this week to sort it out as thankfully the tent is still under warranty. I am so impressed with that shops customer service, our nearest store have been so helpful in getting things organised before we go there as its a fair old distance to get there to swap it all over. If only more shops were as helpful as these guys, maybe as many shops wouldnt be going into administration!
Laura_Babs
Yeeeh man seeing all the greenuss of my hometown coming along has me thinking of those green fields of Glasto, although it has only been witnessed on TV by me I haven't packed clothes just general camping things and it is quite a load; what would you say are the essentials so we can devise a decent amount of paramount items? emmmmma
- A scarf, hat and gloves! Sounds odd but I always forget and last year got my friend to bring some down for me (she was coming later). It does get really cold at night and is handy to have
K8P
I bought a readybed from argos the other day and considered getting rucksacks down from the loft. Its all very exciting
redmosquito
I bought a new rucksac last night and I got so excited that I had to go upstairs and chuck a few things in it!
BonnetBird
Camping wise - don't forget your tent (obviously), a sleeping bag and an extra thinish blanket and you will be fine. A torch is also handy and something to use as a pillow (although the thick fleece works just as well). Also those emergency silver blankets are great for keeping you warm at night and for keeping the booze or your tent cool (wrap it round a crate or pop it over your tent and it reflects the sun.). My mind has gone blank now but I think if you bring all of those things, it should be OK!
1stGlasto'09
Clothing wise or camping wise. I'm female so my list might be a bit different! I can't remember if you had a pic. posted so sorry if you did and no offence intended. I just didn't look before clicking reply!!! Trying to be neutral, I would say you need: - 1 thick jumper/fleece - 1/2 pairs of jeans - 1 pair of shorts - A waterproof jacket - Wellies/walking boots - Flip flops/trainers - Enough tops/ t-shirts for 1/day - Some thin jumpers so you can layer your t-shirts/thin jumpers/thick jumpers/rain coat if needed - A scarf, hat and gloves! Sounds odd but I always forget and last year got my friend to bring some down for me (she was coming later). It does get really cold at night and is handy to have - sunglasses/sun hat - Thick camping socks. (If you are female then I would bring at least 1 dress, an extra pair of shorts and at least one skirt as well. I tend to over pack!!!) Laura_Babs
Quite a list, I am of the male form so a dress may not be necessary...a skirt maybe Just set up my tent to test it out, gonna be a mother f'er to get back in the sack, one of those pop up ones rather spacious as well in comparison to the one I had last year. I have one of these for the rain; RAIN SUIT I am quite the fashion mogul haha

BlackHole2006
You shouldn't take any really heavy backpacks to carry your stuff. We brought "The Beast" with us last year and it took me and my dad to drag it along the campsite and find our pitch. When we were taking it back to the car she broke unfortunately so this year I think were gonna go for something a bit lighter Cheers, BlackHole2006
