Other Stage Headliners?

the Other stage seems to have very few bands in the Efestivals line-up page at the moment.

Anyone got any ideas as to who may headline the other Stage on Fri and Sun. Seems like it will be Franz on the Sat.

This will be the main factor on whether I see Neil Young or not... Almost certain to see Blur, but prob catch them at T, so could be tempted by the right act.

Last year it was PATD Friday, Massive Attack on Sat and Groove Armada. Panic are a very poor live act imo... not sure if this was the right choice for this slot. Not seen MA or GA, but clearly they tried to be as diverse as they could.

I reckon Vampire Weekend could do this slot this year? Also the Courteeners? Calvin Harris as well. Or maybe a DJ or Hip Hop act to give people a big stage to go to away from traditional Guitar based music?

Any others who you would pick for these slots?

Quick edit, just to qualify that I do like Panic's studio stuff, just v dissapointed with them Live.

While I've heard Mr West puts on a great show I won't be watching him unless my nurse insists (that's if he's playing). I'd like something in the vein of the last couple of years with an established UK dance act to close the other stage come Sunday and if news is right then Placebo it will probably be for Friday.

I'm Hoping it will be the mighty Orbital but then, like my old Mum used to say-'Grandad your dreaming again'.

Pretty much no chance for them

vampire weekend (taking aside my musical indifference towards them) they only have one album

i don't even think they would headline the JP stage nevermind the 40,000 capacity of the other

Same applies to the other 2 really but who knows PATD! played and well that says a lot

I put forward Placebo (taking aside whether they deserve many people here wouldn't say they do_

they can only play friday according to their timetable

and are easily big enough, as they easily sold out their last arena tour

Kanye west is also a possibility or so the story goes. haven't really followed that rumour

Perhaps not the Courteeners, but Calvin 'UK no1' Harris could def rock the ass off this stage. Love to see the show he'd put on when it's dark.

the Courteeners, clearly a better act than Panic, but not as commercially successful.

Although I guess the line-up last year was fairly paper thin and looks to be much much better already.

I guess Placebo are viable. Kanye would def offer some diversity.

Perhaps the Manics? Petshop Boys? Doing a few festivals. Not impossible considering Franz are on as Sat night headliners.

Hope not, but Keane will prob play at some stage over the weekend, guess on the other stage.

Pet Shop Boys are headlining Latitude and that has been given on another thread as a reason why Nick Cave probably won't play, so I'm guessing they won't either. Shame, as their 2000 performance was one of the best gigs I've ever seen.

I'm hoping for Kanye (despite his atrocious latest album) as it would be good to have at least one headliner who isn't indie/rock/guitar based. Would he do it though? Jesus, I hope it's not Keane.
