What does Glastonbury mean to you?

Everyone goes to Festivals for different reasons, like their favourite band are playing or because they just like the atmosphere at specific festivals. Well, basically I want to write something (not sure if it'll be short stories or what yet) which just shows festivals in different lights, what the users of them use them for (if you catch my drift).

So if you could share your opinion on Glastonbury (and any others you have an opinion on) as to why you go and why it gives you so much joy (or not) I would be very happy.

I first went in 1995, and what I got was happy people relaxing and having fun in a safe feeling environment -- the weather helped that year. I later learned that other people had found it overcrowded and threatening, but I never sensed that at the time.

Subsequently I learned that with a bit of determination, you could have the same fun even in shitty weather, because you were among positive people who know how to have fun.
