Hi im a glasto newbie and need your advice.

Because of work me and my girlfriend wont be able to get there till 9/10ish wednesday night.

Will it be too dark for finding a spot and pitching the tent or is there good lighting?

Are we missing much if we decide to get there very early Thursday morning?

Will there be much room left Thursday morning?

We just aint got a clue.

Any help and advice please

Go for Wednesday night. Take a head torch each and you'll have no problems. People around will likely be glad to help out as well. You won't regret it. There will be room left in a lot of the campsites Thursday morning, but you'll get 12 hours less festival time that way.

We got there late thursday last year, no real problems with lighting and stuff, we put up the tent in the rain and the dark without torches, i forgot them ha ha!

Did get numerous neighbours asking if we needed a hand, only to receive a round of applause when we said yes!

Fell for that a good 4 or 5 times!!!!

i'd say wednesday as long as it isn't pouring it down, which it won't be *touches wood*.

there will be people willing to lend a hand so it won't be too difficut putting up your tent and then you can have all day thursday to enjoy glastonbury.

You should have no trouble !

Glasto is 24 hour and well lit , so finding somewhere should not be problem. There are always plenty

of camp site advisors to ask if needed.

What I would advise if try and have a good idea of where you intend to camp and make sure

you end up in the appropriate car park , either East or West.

Also if you bring plenty of stuff , I would travel light for the first night and collect the rest Thursday

morning. You will not be missing anything entertainment wise and will make finding a camping

spot a lot easier, not having to lug all your gear as well.

:P

The first time I went, I had no idea where I wanted to camp. We just turned up, dropped our heavy gear into the nearest free 24hour Lock-Up, then wandered around with just our tents. Found a superb place, then went back for our heavy gear.

What are these lockups then?...Could be a great help to me, as i am going Wednesday on my own just to pitch our tents, can't actually get tp festival proper till Thursday night, mainly due to work commitments. If i left a few rucksacks in would they be...

1...Safe

2...Can you collect any time

3...How much does it cost

4...Were are they situated

Thanks
