Not me. He seems happy to fax it in these days, real "clap your hands" stuff, seems happy to play the song if it sounds even vaguely like the original.

This is total piss from Ray, MURDERING two of the greatest pop songs ever written. (Both of which he wrote), If Dave was with him now, that would be different!! .... but hes not

I've heard better Kinks cover bands at Butlins.

Ill be at Neil Young.

Saw Ray Davies last year with a full band doing 50% Kinks, 40% Village Green Preservation Society and 10% of new songs. He was excellent and had a very good guitarist with him. Ray explained he was from Australia - 'great guitarist but horrendous travelling expenses.'

The guitarist was far better than Dave Davies (who didn't actually play on a lot of Kinks recordings - I think they used Jimmy Page as a sessionman).

It was an excellent evening, lots of chats and anecdotes and Ray on good form. Not so sure at Glasto where he's billed with another guy and not a full band.

Saw him in 1995 when he played the legend slot on the Pyramid. Most of it was just him and his acoustic guitar. Singing along to 'Waterloo Sunset' and 'Lola' in the sunshine was one of my all time Glasto moments.

If I remember rightly there were rumours going round at the time that he was going to be joined on stage by a major special guest - some said Paul McCartney, some his brother. Ray announced midway though his set with lots of fanfare that we were to give big hand for....the guitarist from 'Big Country'! No me neither.

I'd think it likely he'll headline the Acoustic. So will clash with Neil Young and probably Doves. Shame as he'd be perfect for a an early evening one.
